The Los Angeles wildfires rage on, with new evacuation orders being issued as the destruction escalates, leaving at least 16 fatalities in its wake.

On Friday (Jan. 10), Jennifer Garner joined chef and World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés on MSNBC to assess the ongoing damage — and she opened up about the personal losses felt by those around her.
In the interview, Jennifer shared that more than 100 people she knows have lost their homes, and tragically, a member of her church passed away in the fires.

“I lost a friend, and it’s incredibly painful for our church community. I’m not ready to speak about her just yet,” she said, her voice breaking with emotion. “I lost a friend. She couldn’t get out in time.”
