Fans Are Shocked by Coco Gauff's Unexpectedly Modest 21st Birthday Plans

Coco Gauff has had plenty to celebrate recently, and now we get a glimpse of her upcoming birthday celebrations.

The 20-year-old tennis sensation is starting the year strong with consecutive victories. Recently, Coco advanced to the third round in Women's Singles at the Australian Open, securing a 6–3, 7–5 win over Britain's Jodie Burrage on Wednesday.

Following her win, Coco sat down for an interview where the reporter, not missing a beat, asked about her upcoming birthday. In just under two months, on March 13, our beloved Pisces queen will be turning 21!

Turning 21 is a significant milestone for many Americans, as it marks the legal drinking age in the country. However, when Coco was asked about any exciting plans, her response left everyone pleasantly surprised in the best possible way.

"I’m not sure," Coco chuckled. "I’ll be at Indian Wells [BNP Paribas Open]. I’m just not really into partying."

"I’m a big fan of escape rooms, so I’ll likely want to do one," she said, prompting cheers from the crowd. "I’m not sure... maybe share a drink with my parents. But probably not during the tournament."

As Coco spoke, the camera also captured her mother, Candi Gauff, in the crowd, smiling proudly at her daughter.

She subtly suggested that this might not be her first time having alcohol: "I mean, I was of legal age everywhere except the US, so I don't think much will change since I travel so often."

"I know my friends want me to head to Miami for a party and do something wild, but I'm an athlete, so my excitement is right here... being at this event."
