Timothée Chalamet's promotional tour for A Complete Unknown is pure chaos.

From surprise appearances to spontaneous interviews, the Dune: Part Two star spared no effort in promoting the Bob Dylan biopic, featuring him alongside Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning, and Edward Norton.

On January 14, Timothée arrived at the London premiere of A Complete Unknown riding a Lime e-bike, and the internet had a lot to say about it.

Timothée made a grand entrance in a custom Martine Rose outfit, sporting a blue and green silk floral shirt, untucked from his black double-breasted suit.

There was speculation that Timothée's choice to arrive at the premiere on an e-bike was a nod to David Byrne arriving at the 2023 Met Gala on a bicycle.

Another possibility was that it was a reference to Bob Dylan's iconic transportation in the film — a Triumph Bonneville T100.

The real reason Timothée was riding a Lime bike through the streets of London on his way to the premiere wasn’t because he was in his Harry Styles era (if you know, you know). It actually makes a lot of sense.

On the French TV show Quotidien, Timothée shared that he opted for the bike due to a traffic jam, adding, "It's ecological!"

However, his good intentions didn’t go without consequences, as he later revealed he was fined £65 (about $79) for parking the e-bike incorrectly. "It was awful because it was supposed to be an advertisement for them," he mentioned.

What a bummer.

His e-bike ride quickly gained attention online, and now it's another memorable moment in the series of quirky Timothée Chalamet press tour moments.
Someone humorously assumed that Lime sponsored the advertisement, when in reality, it was Timothée who paid for it himself.

"He's going electric, this is so funny," another commenter remarked, referencing Bob Dylan's legendary electric guitar performance, which inspired A Complete Unknown.

One person commented, "Timothée Chalamet is basically just a collection of intrusive thoughts in a suit," and given the press tour antics, they’re not entirely off the mark.

People were having a field day...

...and there were plenty of puns.

And then, someone offered the most insightful comment that genuinely made me smile, stating, "It’s ironic when someone gets fined for something meant to be a positive advertisement. It just goes to show how even the best intentions can get tangled in red tape."
