Keke Palmer Just Broke Down 'Defying Gravity,' And It's So Funny I Nearly Choked On My Water

Unless you've spent the last two decades in the theater world, you might be surprised to learn that Wicked is still captivating the internet, nearly two months after its theater release.

This week, Keke Palmer is responsible for a viral moment, as more than 7 million people tuned in to hear her explain the meaning of the iconic song 'Defying Gravity' while promoting her latest film One of Them Days.

"Uh-aaahh-uh-aaahhahhhahhh!!" Palmer humorously recreated Elphaba's legendary 'Defying Gravity' note before turning to the camera and commenting, "That's a slave hymn."

"Come on! When she stood up there and spoke to the crowd! Y'all, it’s truly amazing," she said excitedly.

Her costar SZA was left speechless. "A slave hymn is so…" *Deep sigh*

"Y'all know I ain't lying," Palmer added with confidence.

Then, the video cut to the moments leading up to the funny exchange. "You have to save space for the lyrics of 'Defying Gravity'," Palmer said. "From Wicked?" SZA asked. "From Wicked," Palmer replied.

"That — it makes me feel invincible! No one can bring me down!" she declared.

In the comments, viewers backed up Keke's take on the song. "It felt like I caught the spirit during defying gravity lol so yuppp definitely a hymn! Lol"
