To everyone's surprise, she isn’t scared of Sulley at all, and they form a bond that resembles that of a father and daughter. Unfortunately, this relationship brings trouble for Sulley. Monsters, Inc. captivates the imagination of both children and adults, offering a blend of creativity and sincerity. While it’s an enjoyable film, it doesn’t quite live up to the full potential of other Pixar masterpieces. The three main characters are memorable and endearing, but many of the secondary characters feel underdeveloped, leaving the plot somewhat flat. Despite this flaw, the film is a timeless classic.

An elderly man attaches thousands of balloons to his house and floats off to South America. There, he hopes to fulfill both his and his late wife’s lifelong dream. Accompanying him is a talking dog and an overeager boy, who leads him into numerous predicaments. This captivating tale resonates with audiences of all ages. The characters, particularly the elderly Carl, are among the most unforgettable in Pixar’s history. His determination and drive at such an age show that life doesn’t have to be uncontrollable. His journey to find his dream home—an incredible cliff with a waterfall—is a testament to his spirit. Up is a deeply emotional and inspirational film that sets a high standard for Pixar, complemented by its remarkable score.
7. The Incredibles
A retired superhero struggles to adjust to a quiet family life, but his past as a crime fighter keeps pulling him back into action, especially when supervillains disrupt his personal world. Before WALL-E, this was one of Pixar’s most grounded and realistic stories, though, surprisingly, it still remains one of their most captivating tales. The action sequences, though slightly violent, are incredibly fun, and the characters are endearing. The animation is superb, and the voice acting adds to the charm. Often, movie franchises that extend this far tend to lose their charm, such as Shrek 3 or Ice Age 3, but Toy Story 3 defies this trend. The engaging plot keeps us on the edge of our seats, with its quick pace and timeless magic. The animation has improved since the first two films, and though it may not have the same fresh excitement, it’s still a classic that continues to captivate audiences.
5. WALL-E
WALL-E tells the story of a solitary, trash-compacting robot left behind on a polluted Earth, while humanity resides aboard a spaceship. When a female robot named Eve is sent to Earth to assist WALL-E, he quickly falls in love with her. However, their bond is disrupted when Eve is urgently called back to the spaceship. WALL-E, determined to reunite with Eve, embarks on a dangerous journey to find her. This film isn’t just a classic animated feature; it also stands as a successful sci-fi narrative. Its breathtaking visuals are some of the best in animation. With minimal dialogue, WALL-E’s characters may seem unusual for a Pixar film, but this only adds to their charm. While the story may not be as captivating as its stunning visuals, it remains one of Pixar’s finest works, enjoyed by adults just as much as children.
4. Ratatouille

The animation is top-notch, bringing the world to life beautifully. Finally, the film offers a realistic look at the intense, high-pressure life of a chef working in a prestigious French restaurant.

The story centers on Woody, a toy cowboy, who becomes jealous of a new toy, Buzz, who quickly claims the title of his owner’s favorite. Toy Story is unforgettable to its fans, largely because of the remarkable development of the two lead characters. Although the film mostly focuses on Buzz and Woody, this is what gives it its strength and makes it so entertaining. The comedic moments between the two characters are a standout element, though the emotional aspect adds depth. Toy Story is an all-around entertaining experience that appeals to viewers of all ages. In my opinion, it is not only the best Pixar film ever, but the greatest animated film of all time.

This film is perhaps the best adventure story in Pixar’s history, due to its epic scale. While the characters aren’t as compelling as some in other Pixar films, they’re still engaging throughout. Before Up, Disney hadn’t ventured much into long journey narratives, and Finding Nemo was a fresh take, exploring the vast, uncharted world beneath the ocean’s surface. The film strikes a perfect balance of poignancy and sadness, while injecting just the right amount of humor. It’s a film that resonates differently with adults and kids, offering emotional depth for the former and charming humor for the latter.
1. Toy Story 2
Toy Story 2 stands as one of the finest sequels ever made. The story picks up where the first left off, with the toys setting out to rescue their friend, Woody, who was kidnapped and is now about to be sold abroad. While some may argue it surpasses the first film, it’s certainly not as consistently entertaining. Toy Story 2 brings a deeper level of poignancy, but it never loses its charm or comedic appeal. What truly sets this film apart is the character development; the toys gain a new understanding of love, friendship, and even sympathy for one another. The characters themselves feel more integral to the plot than in the first movie. Moreover, Toy Story 2 delves into the deeper life of a toy. This is one of those rare sequels that stands as a classic in its own right, akin to films like The Godfather Part 2, Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Dark Knight, in my opinion.

Cars follows the story of Lightning McQueen, a racecar who finds himself in the small town of Radiator Springs by accident. There, he learns valuable lessons about friendship and his own lack of empathy for the other cars. The film boasts stunning animation that makes it visually captivating. However, its placement on the list is due to the lack of the magical imagination that elevated other Pixar films. The characters, while pleasant, were somewhat predictable and uninspired. Nevertheless, Cars remains an entertaining movie of the year, even if it doesn’t reach the same heights of Pixar’s other masterpieces.
