As the Ghost Adventures team investigates this haunted fortress, the atmosphere grows tense. “I’m nervous,” admits Aaron, prompting Zak to reply, “You’re always nervous.”
In the bone room, an eerie scream breaks the silence, sending a chill through Zak. “This is giving me the creeps!” he says, his voice shaking with fear. The sensation of being touched by invisible hands unsettles him even more, and a ghostly breeze seems to sweep right through him.
Aaron’s fear escalates when he hears a growl from the darkness. “I swear, it’s coming from over there,” he says nervously, his eyes filled with terror. Cold spots appear, dropping the temperature from 72.6°F to 61.4°F (22.5°C to 16.3°C) in the soldier’s quarters. As Aaron runs in panic from something unseen, his hurried footsteps echo across the courtyard.
9. Season 3, Episode 1: Pennhurst State School and Hospital
Originally a facility for individuals with developmental disabilities, Pennhurst State closed in 1987 following reports of abuse and neglect. However, the anguished spirits of its former inhabitants appear to linger, refusing to find peace.
As the first official paranormal team to explore its haunted halls, Ghost Adventures faced unexpected horrors. While filming during the day, a menacing metallic noise echoed through the hallway, drawing them to a desk mysteriously moved by an unseen force.
EMF meters surged, faint voices murmured warnings to “leave,” and temperatures shifted unpredictably. Footsteps reverberated on the third floor, paired with a stern demand to “get out,” as though the spirits were determined to drive their uninvited visitors away.
EVPs recorded desperate cries for help, followed by physical attacks from invisible forces. Rocks were thrown, coat racks toppled, and Zak sensed a spectral hand reaching toward him. As the Ghost Adventures team (GAC) ventured deeper into Pennhurst’s eerie depths, they encountered an inexplicable darkness that kept viewers captivated and haunted by the lingering presence of the supernatural.
8. Season 6, Episode 5: Letchworth Village
In Season 6, Episode 5 of Ghost Adventures, Zak, Nick, and Aaron explore Letchworth Village, a deserted mental asylum in Haverstraw, NY. The trio ventures into the heart of Letchworth Village, navigating its eerie hallways and dimly lit spaces.
Nick’s question into the void is met with an instant reply—a loud knock resonating through the corridors. In the morgue, Aaron’s recorder picks up a chilling phrase: “Shut up, you prick,” hissed from the other side, along with a cold breath on his neck. Simultaneously, Zak’s device captures a command: “Pray your god,” a grim omen of a hostile presence nearby.
Zak’s brush with a towering shadow sends a wave of alarm through the group. “Oh my God,” he whispers, recording the entity on camera—a menacing figure hovering just out of sight. Using the spirit box, the team hears desperate cries—”Attack” and “Please help”—before Zak is forcefully shoved and struck by sudden dizziness.
7. Season 8, Episode 15: Goldfield Hotel
With spectral presences around every corner, this two-day, two-night investigation at the Goldfield Hotel is filled with eerie encounters that will haunt your dreams for weeks.
The GAC is immediately thrown into a storm of supernatural activity. During a daytime session with the Ovilus device, they receive cryptic messages like “Nick,” “night,” and “foe.” But when loud footsteps reverberate through the deserted halls and a plant shifts inexplicably, they know they’re sharing the space with something otherworldly.
The caretaker, Virginia, warns that three spirits are following their every move, heightening the tension. EVPs record spine-chilling phrases like “Let me have it,” amplifying the unease. When Zak, investigating alone, spots a shadowy figure and is struck by a hurled rock, the fear reaches its climax.
The situation takes a dark turn as Zak's actions grow increasingly unpredictable, reaching a climax when he violently knocks a camera from Aaron's grasp. It appears as though a malevolent force has seized control of him, leaving his crew both confused and anxious.
6. Season 12, Episode 4: Island of the Dolls
In Season 12, Episode 4 of Ghost Adventures, the team ventured to the eerie Island of the Dolls in Mexico. Zak, who is famously terrified of dolls, found himself surrounded by countless unsettling figures. “This is literally my worst nightmare,” he declared, and it’s hard to disagree with him given the chilling atmosphere.
With Nick absent due to the arrival of his newborn daughter, Jay Wasley stepped in alongside Billy Tolley, expertly managing base camp. As they approached the island under the cover of darkness, Aaron perfectly captured the mood: “This is beyond creepy.”
The tension escalated when they added Harold the Haunted Doll to the island’s collection, only to hear another doll burst into eerie laughter behind them. “Straight out of a horror film,” Aaron remarked. In Season 12, Episode 5 of Ghost Adventures, the team embarks on a Halloween Special to Ireland, exploring its haunted Celtic history. Nick and Billy investigate Leap Castle, where an eerie atmosphere envelops them. Billy feels an icy hand on his shoulder, while Nick records the haunting scream of a woman resonating through the infamous Bloody Chapel.
Zak and Aaron head to the ominous Hell Fire Club on Montpelier Hill, where a palpable sense of dread fills the air. Zak is overwhelmed by a menacing energy, and Aaron is visibly shaken when an invisible force brushes his ear, bringing him to tears.
At base camp, Jay is unnerved by ghostly footsteps in the deserted Steward House, leading Zak to investigate its shadowy corridors alone. During a spirit communication session, Zak is stunned when a voice utters the name “Satan,” sending chills through the team.
The investigation continues at Loftus Hall, where the team gathers in a room rumored to have hosted the devil during a card game. Using an SLS camera, they detect a spectral figure looming over Aaron, sapping his strength and leaving him feeling ill. The paranormal activity escalates as Aaron senses an invisible hand trailing his arm, plunging them further into the terrifying unknown.

The Ghost Adventures Crew delves into the mysterious Casa Grande Domes in Arizona’s desert. Zak, Aaron, and Billy prepare for a night filled with paranormal activity. As they navigate the eerie environment, Zak remarks, “Something is aware of our presence.” Soon after, Billy’s camera records a menacing growl, and Zak feels an unseen hand brush his arm.
As the investigation progresses, the supernatural activity intensifies. Aaron, isolated and exposed, detects a looming entity and receives ominous messages through an Ovilus device. Meanwhile, Billy, attempting to find comfort by reading scripture, experiences physical discomfort and hears otherworldly sounds, confirming the team is dealing with forces beyond their comprehension.
The boundary between the living and the supernatural grows increasingly indistinct, leading to a terrifying moment that sends Aaron running in fear. He exclaims, “Dude, I just saw this shadow—horns, everything, man,” his voice trembling in the darkness.
3. Season 19, Episode 12: The Titanic Museum
Embark on the eeriest journey imaginable—a visit to the Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri. Zak and Jay explore the Promenade Deck, equipped with an SLS camera and toy triggers. They encounter a childlike apparition that flickers in and out of sight, leaving small handprints on recently cleaned windows, a ghostly sign of an invisible entity.
Elsewhere, Aaron and Billy investigate the Musician’s Gallery, where they are enveloped by an unnerving cold spot. The most terrifying moment occurs when Zak and Jay discover a vibrating wall, a nod to Frederick Fleet’s frantic warning, “Iceberg, right ahead!” The past seems to merge with the present as Zak spots the ghostly figure of a young boy. Simultaneously, the spirit box captures the playful voice of a child saying “peek-a-boo” from the afterlife.
2. Season 18, Episode 2: Upper Fruitland Curse
This spine-chilling story begins in Upper Fruitland, NM, where a family is tormented by the specter of a faceless boy within their home. Zak, along with Aaron, Jay, and Billy, ventures into the Navajo Nation to uncover the secrets of this cursed dwelling and bring peace to the afflicted family.
Billy’s chilling capture of an “evil” EVP sets a foreboding tone for what lies ahead. Aaron’s harrowing experience leaves the crew shaken, with his camera glitching as if manipulated by an invisible entity. The SLS camera used by Zak and Billy reveals both headless and intact figures, blurring the boundary between the living and the spectral world.
Lights flicker menacingly, shadows shift unnaturally, and invisible forces drag furniture across the floor. Jay’s exploration of the crawl space unleashes a wave of terror, highlighted by a bone-chilling growl and a lid slamming shut with a deafening crash. By the investigation’s end, it’s clear—the curse of Upper Fruitland persists, a grim testament to the malevolent forces lurking in the shadows, ready to strike.
1. Season 16, Episode 6: Route 666
The Ghost Adventures Crew’s journey along Route 666 plunges them into a world of darkness. Their first stop, the De Soto Hotel, exudes an unsettling vibe, with the stench of decay near the basement entrance. As Zak and Aaron venture below, they are met with a ghostly howl.
Aaron feels an oppressive weight, and the spirit box delivers the chilling message, “I’m in control,” signaling the start of supernatural activity. Even at base camp, Jay witnesses the paranormal as the camera controller moves on its own, accompanied by eerie hissing sounds.
Evil permeates Concordia Cemetery, a burial site for more than sixty thousand individuals. The satanic rituals performed by Richard Ramirez have tainted this hallowed ground. Billy, venturing alone into the cemetery, faces malevolent forces, encountering ominous signs—a crow heralding darkness and ghostly shapes moving among the trees.
The horror intensifies at Goatman’s Bridge and Forest. Ashley, the team’s photographer, is seized by a malevolent energy, pushing her to the edge of sanity. Her terrifying experience forces her to flee, leaving her position in the investigation and ultimately departing the GAC entirely.
As the team delves further, they encounter spine-chilling occurrences—a ghostly growl, floating eyes, and the malevolent entity known as “Steve,” the source of the haunting. The situation worsens when an invisible force hurls Aaron, and Zak is attacked by an unseen presence, leaving him gasping for air as it tightens its grip on his throat.
