While putting together this list, I was disheartened by the lack of modern women who truly represent elegance. It was no easy feat to create this list, as so many women could have made the cut – so be sure to share your thoughts on who you believe deserves a spot in the top 10 (or even top 15). Eva Gabor was the graceful member of the family (unlike her sister Zsazsa, who had an incident with a policeman). She was the first in her family to move from Hungary to the United States. Eva is most remembered for her role in the sitcom Green Acres, which centers around a wealthy couple relocating from the luxurious city life to a rural farm.

Lauren Bacall earns her place here not only for her impeccable style and beauty, but also because she represents the epitome of a strong woman who remains neither aggressive nor overpowering. She embodies the ideal blend of sophistication and power. Famous for her smoky voice and captivating looks, Bacall became a fashion icon and a role model for women during the late 1940s.
8. Lucy Liu1968
Lucy Liu was a challenging choice – largely due to some of her promotional images which may not immediately evoke elegance. However, when fully dressed, she consistently presents herself in a refined manner and carries a natural grace. Liu is also one of the most stunning actresses in Hollywood today. Beyond acting, she is a talented artist, having held three exhibitions featuring her collages, paintings, and photography.
7. Elizabeth Taylor1932
Despite facing numerous personal challenges throughout her life, Elizabeth Taylor always managed to maintain an air of elegance on screen. She remains one of the brightest stars in the history of American cinema. The American Film Institute ranked Taylor as the seventh Greatest Female Star of All Time.
6. Ava Gardner1922 – 1990
Ava toiled away in the challenging sectors of the film industry; appearing in melodramas, historical romances, safari films, crime thrillers, and westerns – genres that film critics often scoff at. By the mid to late 1950s, Ava had become synonymous with beauty, setting the standard by which other actresses were measured. As she entered middle age, Ava relocated from Spain to London, settling in the esteemed Ennismore Gardens, where she lived until her passing in January 1990, shortly after turning sixty-eight.

For her significant contributions to the film industry, Ingrid Bergman earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6759 Hollywood Blvd. She remains a cultural icon — celebrated not just for her role in Casablanca but for her entire career and her pure, natural beauty. Many regard her as one of the greatest actresses of the 20th century.
4. Cate Blanchett1969
Cate Blanchett is an Australian actress who has won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. In addition, she has received numerous accolades, including two SAG Awards and two BAFTAs, making her one of the few performers to have claimed all four major motion picture acting honors.
