I’m a huge fan of the Star Wars trilogies (yes, all of them—I even loved Episodes 1-3, so go ahead and judge me), though I don’t take them overly seriously. Below are some of the finest Star Wars parodies, created by both amateurs and professionals. Poor Darth Vader often ends up as the main target of the humor. I might have missed a few—readers, feel free to share your favorites!
10. How It Should Have Actually Ended
Plot holes? What plot holes? This clever animation reimagines the ending of “A New Hope” in a more logical way.
9. Darth Vader Takes on Japanese Police
Even though it’s in Japanese, being an English-speaking foreigner only adds to the hilarity.
8. Darth Vader’s Sassy Side
“Doomblake” had a blast poking fun at Vader while he was in his meditation chamber.
7. Family Guy’s Blue Harvest Special
I didn’t rank this at the top, but only because the others are so incredibly good. The standout moment? Stewie as Vader, casually pointing out the Death Star’s design flaw while “just doing his job.”
6. Robot Chicken’s Star Wars Special
Absolutely genius satire. Watch Darth Vader deal with Jar-Jar Binks. Observe how Imperial officers cleverly dodge Vader’s infamous chokehold. Discover the real story behind Ben Kenobi slicing off Snaggletooth’s arm. Follow the journey of a humble janitor moving from Naboo to Coruscant and eventually to Death Star II. You get the idea—it’s pure brilliance. Best moment:
5. Death Star Hovers Over San Francisco
Imagine the Empire invading Earth and establishing a base in San Francisco. This expertly crafted video combines Star Wars models and CGI with real-life footage of San Francisco, creating a seamless and captivating blend.
4. The Wounded Stormtrooper
We all know Stormtroopers couldn’t hit a moisture vaporator if their lives depended on it. But did you realize they also skipped first aid training?
1. A Clone Apart
This isn’t a parody of the films but a comedic adventure series crafted by “Illusive Entertainment LLC” using the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 game engine. So far, they’ve only released up to part 3. If I recall correctly, there were initial copyright concerns from either YouTube or LucasArts, but Illusive managed to get the green light to continue the series. Check out their website, but watch the trailer first.
2. Chad Vader – Day Shift Manager
Introducing the galaxy’s most pitiful dark Jedi: Chad Vader! As the creators put it, “Life isn’t easy when you’re Darth Vader’s less-gifted, less-charismatic younger sibling running a grocery store.”
Bonus 2 Troops
Troops stands as the ultimate Star Wars parody (one of the earliest, in fact) and ranks among the greatest spoofs of all time. Ever wondered what truly went down in the Tatooine desert when stormtroopers hunted for R2-D2 and C-3PO? This is action-packed Imperial Army drama at its finest! Sadly, you’ll need to download the 30 MB file to watch it. Here’s the download link.
Bonus 1 Death Star Repairmen
Do you really believe the Death Star was destroyed just because Luke Skywalker shot a couple of torpedoes into a two-meter exhaust port leading to the main reactor? Think again! Watch the truth unfold in this .mov file (QuickTime).
3. The Vader Sessions
James Earl Jones famously voiced Darth Vader. “AKJAK” brilliantly combined audio clips from Jones’ various films and seamlessly integrated them into scenes from the original Star Wars. This smooth-talking Vader is pure genius. (Note: Contains strong language.)
