15. The Village [2004]
Story: In a secluded village in rural Pennsylvania, an unspoken agreement exists between the villagers and the mysterious creatures lurking in the woods: the villagers are forbidden to enter the woods, and the creatures stay away from the village. This uneasy truce holds for years, but when Lucius Hunt ventures beyond the woods to obtain medical supplies, everything begins to unravel. Soon after, animal carcasses are found scattered across the village, without fur, heightening the elders' fear for the safety of their people, the sanctity of the pact, and much more.
The Twist: The monsters are revealed to be the village elders in disguise, attempting to maintain the illusion of a secluded world cut off from modern civilization.

14. 12 Monkeys [1995]
Story: In 1996, a deadly virus devastates the globe, wiping out five billion people. By 2035, only 1% of the population remains, forced to live underground. A convicted criminal, James Cole, is reluctantly selected to travel back in time to 1996 to investigate the virus' origins, which are believed to have been spread by the mysterious 'Army of the Twelve Monkeys.' However, Cole is accidentally sent to 1990, six years too early. He is arrested and placed in a mental institution, where he meets Dr. Kathryn Railly, a psychiatrist, and Jeffrey Goines, the unstable son of a renowned scientist and virus expert.
The Twist: It wasn’t the Army of 12 Monkeys responsible after all; the real mastermind was Dr. Peter, who had worked alongside Jeffrey Goines' father.
13. Unbreakable [2000]
Story: After surviving a horrific train crash without a single scratch, security guard David Dunn (Bruce Willis) encounters Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), a comic book enthusiast who believes Dunn is secretly a superhero. Initially skeptical, Dunn slowly discovers he possesses incredible strength and an uncanny ability to fight crime with extraordinary skills.
The Twist: Elijah Price turns out to be the villain.
12. No Way Out [1987]
Story: Tom Farrell (Kevin Costner), a naval attaché working at the Pentagon, is tasked with uncovering the identity of the murderer of a high-end escort with whom he had been involved. However, the true killer, Secretary of Defence David Brice (Gene Hackman), has framed a fictitious Russian spy, codenamed 'Yuri,' for the crime.
The Twist: Tom Farrell himself is revealed to be Yuri.
11. The Others [2001]
Story: Grace, a woman with two children, moves to a secluded mansion on the island of Jersey as the Second World War nears its end, waiting for her husband’s return from the front. Her children suffer from a condition that makes direct sunlight dangerous, causing harm if they are exposed. They live by strict and almost religious rules, until Grace hires a group of servants. Their arrival disrupts the established order, setting off a series of unpredictable events with far-reaching consequences.
The Twist: It turns out they are all ghosts.
10. Primal Fear [1996]
Story: A wealthy, overconfident attorney takes on the case of a young, impoverished altar boy named Aaron, who is found fleeing from the scene of a gruesome murder where the bishop, who had taken him in, is killed. The case takes a turn when the accused reveals the possibility of a mysterious ‘third person,’ Roy, being present during the murder.
The Twist: It is revealed that Aaron is actually Roy, and he is the one who committed the murder.
9. Dogville [2003]
Story: Grace (Nicole Kidman), a beautiful fugitive, arrives in the remote town of Dogville while fleeing from a gang of criminals. With some persuasion from Tom, the self-proclaimed spokesman of the town, the residents agree to shelter her, with Grace offering to work in return. However, when a search for her intensifies, the townspeople begin demanding more in exchange for keeping her hidden, gradually exploiting her and turning her into little more than a slave. Grace soon learns that in Dogville, morality is a relative concept.
The Twist: The mobster turns out to be Grace's father, and at her request, he eliminates everyone in the town.
8. Saw [2004]
Story: A brutal serial killer known as ‘Jigsaw’ has been abducting people to teach them a gruesome lesson about the value of life. His method is simple yet horrifying: victims must choose between injuring themselves or harming others in order to survive. One of his latest victims, a man named Adam, wakes up in a decrepit building, chained by his leg to a pipe in a dirty basement. Across from him, another man, Dr. Lawrence Gordon, is also shackled. Together, they find the body of a man who has taken his own life, lying between them with a gun in one hand and a tape recorder in the other.
The Twist: The man on the floor is revealed to be Jigsaw, and he is still alive.

7. Sixth Sense [1999]
Story: Malcolm Crowe, a child psychologist, receives an award on the same evening he is confronted by a troubled former patient. Following this encounter, Crowe begins working with a young boy who shares the same troubling symptoms as his ex-patient: the boy can “see dead people.” Crowe spends considerable time with the boy, Cole, much to the frustration of his wife. Cole’s mother is desperate for a solution, and Crowe becomes the boy’s last hope for help.
The Twist: Malcolm Crowe is revealed to be dead.
6. Fight Club [1999]
Story: A disillusioned, solitary man in his thirties, known only as The Narrator, searches for an escape from his humdrum life with the help of a charismatic and unscrupulous soap salesman named Tyler Durden. Together, they find an outlet for their frustrations through secret underground fight clubs, where men can reclaim their sense of power. What begins as an avenue for release quickly spirals out of control, leading to chaos and a path toward self-destruction.
The Twist: It is revealed that The Narrator and Tyler Durden are the same person.
5. The Empire Strikes Back [1980]
Story: On the run from the oppressive Galactic Empire, the rebels are forced to abandon their new base on Hoth. Princess Leia, Han Solo, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3P0 narrowly escape in the damaged Millennium Falcon. However, they are eventually captured by Lord Darth Vader on the cloud city of Bespin. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker follows the late Ben Kenobi's instructions and travels to Dagobah, where he undergoes Jedi training under the watchful eye of Yoda.
The Twist: It is revealed that Leia is Luke's twin sister, and Darth Vader is their father.
4. The Crying Game [1992]
Story: An unexpected bond forms between Fergus, a volunteer in the Irish Republican Army, and Jody, a British soldier who has been kidnapped and tricked into an IRA trap by Jude, another IRA member. When the hostage situation goes horribly awry, Fergus manages to escape and heads to London. There, he seeks out Jody’s girlfriend, Dil, a hairdresser. Under the alias 'Jimmy,' Fergus gets a job as a day laborer and begins a relationship with Dil, who is unaware of his involvement with the IRA.
The Twist: Dil turns out to be a man.
3. Planet of the Apes [1968]
Story: In 3978 AD, a spaceship with four crew members crashes on a distant planet. One crew member dies in space, and the remaining three venture to explore the planet. They soon discover that the planet is eerily similar to their own, but it is inhabited by intelligent apes. After one crew member is killed, the others are captured and taken to the apes' city. After undergoing a trial, one crew member escapes with a female human native to the planet. Together, they help some of their ape allies escape a religious trial, before fleeing into the wilderness.
The Twist: The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future on Earth, following a devastating atomic war.
2. Psycho [1960]
Story: Marion Crane, a frustrated office worker in Phoenix, grows disillusioned with her life. Her affair with Sam is strained by his alimony payments, which prevent them from getting married. One day, Marion is entrusted with $40,000 to deposit at the bank. Seizing the chance for a fresh start, she steals the money and heads to Sam’s store in California. However, on a stormy night during her long drive, she takes a detour off the main highway and checks into the Bates Motel. The motel is run by a quiet young man named Norman, who seems to be under the control of his overbearing mother.
The Twist: It is revealed that Norman's mother is actually Norman himself, disguised in drag.
1. The Usual Suspects [1995]
Story: After a boat explosion at San Pedro pier leaves 27 dead and $91 million in drug money, the only survivors are a terrified, severely burned Hungarian terrorist and Verbal Kint, a handicapped con artist. Reluctantly, Kint is forced to recount the events leading up to the explosion. His tale starts six weeks earlier when five criminals were arrested by New York police, who were desperate for suspects in a hijacking case, and builds to the revelation of a mysterious figure, the criminal mastermind Keyser Soze.
The Twist: It is revealed that Verbal Kint is actually Keyser Soze, and the entire story he tells the police is a fabrication.
