-
5 tablespoons sugar, divided
-
3 large eggs
-
¾ cup whole milk
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, with extra for greasing the baking dish
-
½ cup all-purpose flour
-
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
-
2 cups frozen mixed berries (from a 10-oz. bag)
-
1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries (from a 10-oz. bag)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Generously butter a 2-quart baking dish and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
-
In a blender, combine eggs, milk, melted butter, and remaining 4 tablespoons of sugar, blending until smooth for about 1 minute. Add flour and salt, then pulse for about 15 pulses until well combined.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared dish. Arrange the berries and cherries on top. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the custard is puffed and set in the center. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Chef's Tips
Feel free to swap the mixed berries with 3 cups of any frozen fruit you like. Try a combination of mango and pineapple for a refreshing tropical flavor.
