A Paloma ranks among my top 'something and sodas,' primarily because it’s an excuse to enjoy Squirt, the grapefruit soda I’ve loved since childhood. Mix it with tequila and a squeeze of lime, and you’ve got a refreshing, sunny cocktail that you can effortlessly put together in your glass.
Not a fan of Squirt? Any grapefruit soda will do the trick. I also enjoy Jarritos and San Pellegrino, but feel free to use whichever brand you prefer. Along with your chosen soda and some blanco tequila, you’ll need half a lime. If you’re up for experimenting with four-ingredient cocktails, a dash of salt adds a nice touch. To create this vibrant, thirst-quenching drink, you’ll need the following ingredients:
2 ounces blanco tequila
1/2 lime
4 ounces grapefruit soda
Pour tequila and the juice of half a lime into a highball glass filled with ice. Add grapefruit soda on top and give it a gentle stir to mix. Sip and enjoy, repeating as desired.
