I'm not particularly fond of The Rich, but Martha Stewart has a certain charm. Maybe it's because of her time in prison, her questionable food photos, or her unapologetic portrayal of herself as an extremely wealthy person (which, in a way, is refreshingly honest). Whatever the reason, this is one affluent lady who continues to win me over. (That’s mom, as they say.) On top of all that, she really knows what she’s doing. Watch her effortlessly teach Jamie Oliver a thing or two about food processors with her cool, confident demeanor.
If you've ever used a food processor, you know the frustration of trying to remove the food from the bowl without the blade slipping out. You either end up fishing the blade out with your hands, making a mess, or awkwardly trying to hold it in place while tilting the bowl.
You can choose to grip the top of the blade, like Jamie does, but that requires two hands—one to hold the bowl and another to keep the blade steady. Alternatively, for a bit more freedom, you could try Martha’s method and grab the blade from underneath, freeing up a hand for other tasks like scraping.
Simply insert your finger into the hole. Hold the bowl with one hand, and use the same hand to slide a finger into the bottom, reaching up into the hollow center of the blade attachment. Tilt the bowl as usual and use your other hand to scrape out the processed food.
I gave it a try myself, and it works—of course, because Martha said it would. However, keep in mind that the hole in some models is quite small. My pinky fit just right, and my ring finger slipped in too, but it might be a bit tight for larger fingers. (Though, I do have fairly chubby fingers.)
