Probiotic-rich kefir (a runny yogurt) supports gut health, while turmeric provides an anti-inflammatory boost and a peppery undertone. If kefir is unavailable, swap it with plain yogurt, and ground ginger works as a suitable substitute for turmeric.
Ingredients for this recipe include the following items:
- - 1 cup of plain kefir
- ¾ cup of either bottled coconut water or tap water
- 1 ½ cups of frozen mango chunks (from a 12-ounce package)
- 1 cup of frozen, very ripe banana slices (from 1 banana)
- ¼ teaspoon of ground turmeric
- A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- A pinch of kosher salt
