I may have taken a break from writing about Pop-Tarts recently, but don’t think this jam-filled pastry has gone unnoticed. With the release of the new Pop-Tart comedy, Unfrosted, you’ll soon see the iconic blue box making its way into your life again. I usually come up with creative ways to enjoy Pop-Tarts, like turning them into a Pop-Tart pie crust or even a perverted Pop-Tart trifle, but it looks like I’ve overlooked one crucial thing: staying hydrated. Thankfully, with this quick and easy Pop-Tart milkshake, you can drink your Pop-Tarts too.
Milkshakes are perfect when you crave ice cream without the hassle of dealing with it. Just toss everything into a cup so I don’t have to worry about any messy drips, and hand me a straw so I can gulp it all down in one go. To make things even better, milkshakes let you drink solid foods. All you need is a regular blender, an immersion blender, or one of those fancy milkshake mixers.

How to Create a Pop-Tart Milkshake
1. Softening the Pop-Tarts
Softening the Pop-Tarts first makes the blending process much easier, especially when using a milkshake maker that doesn’t rely on blades. To start, break two Pop-Tarts of your preferred flavor into the machine’s container and pour in some milk. I’m a fan of the frosted strawberry flavor, so I added that along with some almond milk to a measuring cup (I used my immersion blender later). Let it rest for about five minutes.
2. Add the ice cream
Once the Pop-Tarts have softened, it’s time to add the ice cream. I opted for strawberry ice cream to enhance the berry flavor, but if you want the Pop-Tart’s flavors to truly stand out, vanilla bean is a great choice. For easier blending, let your ice cream soften for about 10 minutes before scooping, but the timing depends on how thick or cold you want the shake to be.
3. Blend it all together
Power on your blender and blend the milkshake until the ice cream is smooth and creamy, and the Pop-Tarts have been fully blended. Pour it into a glass and enjoy right away.
My strawberry Pop-Tart milkshake turned out creamy, sweet, and bursting with strawberry flavor. The best part was how the jam-filled center broke down into tiny, semi-frozen jam pieces, adding extra texture to the shake. If strawberry isn’t your thing, don’t worry! The beauty of turning Pop-Tarts into milkshakes is the vast array of flavors you can experiment with, all depending on what’s available at your local store. With over 20 flavors (even "Frosted Strawberry Milkshake flavor!"), you have plenty of options to try.
