Riot has faced a lot of backlash in recent days for their decision to remove the Hextech chests, as players are no longer willing to spend money on them. Now, instead of earning them for free, gamers will have to pay to unlock the Hextech chests.
Naturally, the community was unhappy and took to League of Legends forums like Reddit to voice their dissatisfaction. But now, they've gone a step further, criticizing other events as well. In the video showcasing the four new skins released by Riot on YouTube, the comments section is flooded with requests for the return of the free Hextech chests.
Fans are struggling to find any comments about the Lunar Revel video, as they are more focused on urging Riot to reverse their decision. The removal of the Hextech Chests was first mentioned in the new season introduction video on November 25. According to Riot, the reward system had become too complicated and needed changes.
Now, the community is waiting to see how Riot will address this discontent. If Riot doesn't make any changes, the community may escalate their calls to boycott the game even further.
