Steam's latest promotional campaign seems to have fallen flat, failing to excite the gaming community.
Steam is renowned for its special discount events tailored specifically for gamers.
Following its annual tradition, Valve chose the end of January to roll out Steam's first sale of 2025. However, surprisingly, very few gamers showed genuine enthusiasm for it.

The reason is straightforward: Steam's promotion is themed around the RTS Festival. As the name suggests, this event focuses exclusively on discounts for fans of Real-Time Strategy games.
Naturally, not many gamers are fans of the real-time strategy genre. These games are known for their high difficulty levels, lacking the broad appeal of action or RPG titles. They also demand significant patience and practice from players.

Notable titles in Steam's current promotion include Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 Anniversary Edition, now discounted by 80% to around 100,000 VND. Similarly, Age of Empires 4 Anniversary Edition is available at a 50% discount, priced at 240,000 VND. Additionally, a few non-RTS titles, such as the grand strategy game Europa Universalis 4, are also part of the sale, with a 90% discount bringing its price down to approximately 80,000 VND.

Steam's first promotional event of the year will conclude on January 27. However, as mentioned earlier, it appears that not many gamers or Steam users are particularly excited about it.
