Fortnite's exciting new collaboration introduces Godzilla as a playable boss. Take on the role of Godzilla, stomping through the map, obliterating cities, and defeating other players with your massive powers.
Becoming Godzilla in Fortnite requires patience and a bit of luck, as only one player can take on the mighty monster in each match.
1. How can you transform into Godzilla in Fortnite?
Players can transform into Godzilla by jumping into the Godzilla Portal at the beginning of the match. Only the first player to enter the portal will assume the role of the mighty Godzilla.
The Godzilla portal appears randomly at the start of each match, with a 40% chance of spawning. You’ll know it’s open when a security alert pops up at the bottom of your screen reading, “Godzilla Portal is open.” This will also display the portal's location.

Once you see this notification, open your map to spot the Godzilla icon and head there quickly. Remember, only the first player to enter the portal will become Godzilla. If possible, use a vehicle to reach it faster.

If another player gets there first, you’ll witness Godzilla emerging from the portal and wreaking havoc on everything around. You can either team up with others to take down Godzilla or try to hide and hope it doesn’t find you.
2. Godzilla’s Powers in Fortnite

If you become Godzilla, expect other players to band together against you. You’ll have access to several powerful abilities that will help you dominate the battlefield:
- Roar: Use your roar to warn nearby players of your presence.
- Mighty Stomp: Stomp the ground and send your enemies flying.
- Heat Ray: Unleash a devastating laser beam capable of destroying both players and structures.
3. All About Fortnite
Fortnite is a popular online game developed by Epic Games and launched in 2017. It’s available in three different modes, all of which use the same core gameplay mechanics and engine: Fortnite Battle Royale, a free-to-play battle royale mode where up to 100 players compete to be the last one standing;
Fortnite: Save the World is a cooperative hybrid of tower defense, shooter, and survival genres, where up to four players team up to fend off zombie-like creatures while defending important structures using traps and fortifications they build themselves. Additionally, there's Fortnite Creative, offering players total freedom to design their own worlds and battle arenas.
