HoYoverse announced that, following countless complaints from players about the uselessness of crafting sacred artifacts using Sacred Enhancement Powder, they will upgrade this feature in Genshin Impact version 5.5.
In the latest Developer's Roundtable post on Genshin Impact's official website, HoYoverse confirmed that the Sacred Artifact crafting feature using Sacred Enhancement Powder is about to receive a significant upgrade. All Genshin Impact players must be aware of this to avoid making mistakes when crafting new sacred artifacts before patch 5.5.

In a recent post on the official website, HoYoverse announced that starting from version 5.5, artifacts crafted using Holy Crystallization Powder will receive at least 2 additional sub-stats upon upgrading. For example, if you choose to craft an artifact with Crit Rate and Crit Damage sub-stats, upgrading it to +20 will enhance these stats by at least two times — either evenly distributed or focusing on one stat with both enhancements.
However, it's important to note that this "insurance" feature only applies to artifacts crafted with Holy Crystallization Powder from patch 5.5 onwards. It will not apply to those crafted before this update. Even if you craft an artifact using the Holy Crystallization Powder now, but wait until patch 5.5 to upgrade it, the bonus will not be applied.

The wisest move for Genshin Impact players right now is to halt any artifact crafting activities and save your Holy Crystallization Powder for version 5.5. Unless there are any changes, patch 5.5 is set to release on March 26, 2025, across all platforms including PC, PS, Xbox, and mobile.
