Several of the top-tier players in Apex Legends have faced account suspensions from the developers due to an unexpected and disappointing issue.
The past few weeks have been tough for Apex Legends, as the game faces mounting issues while the developers are forced to make controversial decisions. Things have worsened even further with hackers running rampant, ignoring the countermeasures put in place.

Apex Predator and world’s top-ranked player, Rogue, revealed on January 16, 2025, that his Apex Legends account was hacked. Alongside him, professional players Sweet and ImperialHal also had their accounts taken over by hackers.

The trio kept track of their hijacked accounts and discovered that hackers had been using them in highly malicious ways, continuously utilizing cheating software like aimlock and wallhack. Hours later, all three accounts were banned, affecting the players despite it not being their fault.

Rogue appealed to Respawn Entertainment for intervention, explaining that these accounts were not controlled by the hackers. As a top player in Apex Legends, having one's account taken over by hackers and then banned by the developers is a major setback.

Following the incident, both Sweet and ImperialHal's accounts were banned by the game publisher for using cheating software.
Currently, there is no update regarding the restoration of these players' accounts. Rogue is concerned that the hacking incident will have a significant impact on the streamer, gamer, and professional player communities.
