According to the new regulations, users must verify their phone number on Facebook and confirm their Facebook account with their phone number in order to post or comment. For livestreamers, verification using a personal identification number is required.

- - This applies only to personal Facebook accounts, not Facebook pages.
- Phone number verification is not available for Fanpages.
How to verify your phone number on Facebook on PC, Android, and iOS
1. Verify Facebook phone number on the website
Step 1: Open your web browser, go to the Facebook homepage, and log into your FB account.
Step 2: Go to your profile page HERE
Step 3: Select contact information.
- Here, all details such as account, birthdate, identity, and
- If the phone number is no longer yours, you can select that number => click Remove Number and follow the instructions to delete it.
Step 4: Select Add new contact information
- If the phone number is not yet verified, it will show both your account (Email/Gmail) and phone number in the contact info section.
- Next, select Add mobile number.
- Click the Change button.
- Choose your current location => click Save
- Enter your phone number and select the account that needs phone number verification on Facebook, then click Next.
+ You can choose multiple accounts to add the phone number to.
Step 5: Go to your Email/Gmail to retrieve the OTP code, enter it in the blank field, and click Continue.
- Next, the system will send you an OTP and your phone number, enter the code in the blank field and click Next.
- A notification saying You have added your number to the selected accounts will appear, click Close.
- To verify, go to the Contact Information section and you will see the verified phone number added to your Facebook account.
2. Verify phone number on the Facebook app
* Requirement: You need to download the latest version of Facebook
Step 1: Open Facebook on your phone, select account (the Avatar icon) => Settings & Privacy => Settings
Step 2: On the next screen, select Personal Information => Personal Information => Contact Information.
- If your account is verified, you will see the phone number under contact information. If the number is no longer yours or you don’t use it, select and delete it.
Step 3: Select Add new contact information => Add phone number => enter phone number and select account => Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to add the verified phone number to your Facebook account.
The phone number verification policy on Facebook will take effect from December 25, 2024. After this date, users who haven't verified their Facebook account with a phone number will be unable to comment or post content. If it's your main account, you should add a phone number immediately to avoid the risk of having your account locked.
