1. Requirements for using the PC screenshot feature with Sticky Notes
As mentioned in the introduction of this article, the screenshot feature in Sticky Notes is still in testing on the Microsoft 365 Insider version within the Current Channel (Preview) and has not yet been widely rolled out across all Microsoft versions. To use this feature, users not only need to update their current Microsoft version to Microsoft Office 365 Insider, but also install OneNote for Windows version 2402 (Build 17328.20000) or newer.
If your PC is unable to update, be patient and wait for the gradual rollout of this feature on older Microsoft versions. Microsoft ensures that users will eventually have the opportunity to experience and take advantage of the latest improvements.
2. How to take screenshots on your PC using Sticky Notes
Step 1: Press the shortcut keys Win + Alt + S to quickly open the Sticky Notes application.
Step 2: Select Screenshot to capture the screenshot of the current window.
Step 3: At this point, the screenshot taken with Sticky Notes will appear below as a note.
- The image will include information from the software window or website that you captured.
Step 4: Click on the software window or website information on the note to return to the location where you took the screenshot, if desired.
- You can double-click on the newly created note => Select the pop-out icon in the top-right corner to view the screenshot in full size and add additional notes if necessary.
