At the time of writing this article, Copilot is only available on Windows 11. For Windows 10, you'll need to modify the system settings using third-party software, Vivetool, and follow a few simple installation steps.
Step 1: Install Windows 10 build 19045.3754 (Windows 10 22H2) or a newer version.

Step 2: Update to the latest Microsoft Edge version.
- Launch Microsoft Edge => Enter the path "edge://settings/help" in the address bar => Press Enter.
- Wait a few minutes for Microsoft Edge to check and update to the latest version.
- Once updated, the message Microsoft Edge is up to date will appear as shown below.
Step 3: Download the ViveTool tool to support downloading and installing Copilot on Windows 10. => Extract the file.
- Visit the ViveTool download page HERE => Select the version ViveTool v03.3.zip to download the file to your computer.
- Extract the file you just downloaded => Place the extracted files into a new folder named Vive.
- Copy the Vive folder to your C: drive for easier access.
Step 4: Open Command Prompt with administrator rights.
- Press the Win + S keys to open the Search window => Type "cmd" in the search box.
- Select Command Prompt => Click Run as administrator.
Step 5: Enter the command cd C:\Vive => Press Enter
Step 6: Type the command "vivetool /enable /id:46686174,47530616,44755019" => Press Enter.
- If the activation is successful, the message Successfully set feature configuration will appear.
Step 7: Restart your computer.
Step 8: Change the Value Data attribute of IsUserEligible from 0 to 1.
- Press the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog => Type Regedit => Press OK.
- Paste the path "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Copilot\BingChat" in the empty field.
- Double-click on IsUserEligible.
+ If the Value Data attribute shows 1, proceed to the next step.
+ If the Value Data attribute is 0, change the value from 0 to 1 => Press OK.
Step 9: Right-click on the Taskbar => Select Show Copilot (preview) button.
- The Copilot icon will now appear at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Click the icon to start a conversation with the AI Chatbox and generate images with Copilot on Windows 10.
