If you're looking to say 'Happy Birthday' in a unique way on Facebook, you're in the right place! Nowadays, there are so many creative and fun ways to celebrate your friends online, from sharing stunning images or videos on their profile (also called the 'wall' or 'timeline') to creating a private fan group just for them. In this post, Mytour will guide you through some of the best ways to wish your friends or loved ones a lot of happiness via Facebook.
Steps
Share a heartfelt message on their profile.
Carefully selected words can make your message feel extra special. Instead of simply saying 'Happy Birthday', write a short note that reflects your favorite memories together, explains why they are so important to you, or recalls a funny story only the two of you understand. Visit their profile and click on the 'Write something to [your friend’s name]' box at the top of the page to leave your message. If their birthday is showing in the notifications, you can also click on that notification. This will give you the option to either send a private message or post your message directly on their timeline.
- For example, you could say: 'Happy Birthday to the most amazing guy I've ever known! I hope we’ll keep volunteering together for many more years to come' or 'Even though we can't meet up for your birthday this year, I'm always thinking of you. Wishing you the happiest birthday ever!'
- Once you’ve written your message, click the background icon in the lower-left corner of the text box. Then, choose a festive background to make your birthday wish even more special.
Post meaningful pictures on their wall.
Share a favorite image of both of you. You can also add a humorous meme to lighten the mood. Once you’ve chosen your image, visit their profile and click the Photo/Video link under the 'Write something to [friend's name]' box. Click the Add Photos/Videos button to select a photo from your computer and upload it. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the image from your desktop directly into the box.
- On mobile, click Share Photo and choose an image from your library.
- You can also compose a text post and then use the “add to post” feature to include an image with your message.
- For example, you could post a photo from the first birthday the two of you celebrated together, with a message like: “Can you believe it’s been 15 years?! Hope this birthday is just as amazing as that one!”
Create a birthday greeting video for them.
A video can make your birthday message more fun and engaging. Use your phone, tablet, or camera to record a short birthday greeting and post it directly to Facebook (or upload it from your computer). Go to your friend's Facebook wall, click the Write something to [their name] box, click Add a Photo/Video, and select the video you just made to upload to Facebook.
- On mobile, tap the Photo/Video icon to open your camera roll. Find and select your video, then hit the Post button.
- On desktop, clicking Photo/Video will open a gray box where you can select your video. You can drag and drop the video from your desktop into the box or click the box to search for your video through your files.
- Get creative with your video! For example, you can film yourself and a few friends singing “Happy Birthday,” then add fun filters and effects using apps like Banuba or YouCam Fun.
Send a fun birthday GIF.

Sử dụng tính năng Birthday Stories (Tin sinh nhật) của Facebook.

Share a birthday playlist.
There are a few ways to share music on Facebook. For instance, if you've put together an amazing playlist on Spotify for your friend, open the playlist on either the Spotify mobile or desktop app. Tap the three-dot icon beneath the playlist cover to open the menu. Then, select Share and scroll through the options to choose Facebook. Follow the prompts to share the playlist on your friend's timeline.
- To share a playlist from the YouTube app, tap the menu button (three vertical dots) next to the playlist, then select the share option. Proceed to share the playlist on Facebook, tagging friends, or copy the playlist embed code and paste it in a post on their timeline.
Send birthday money through Facebook Messenger.
This is a quick way to send a birthday gift. To start a conversation with your friend on Messenger, click the Message button at the top of their profile. Next, tap the blue + next to the text box and choose Send or request money. Enter the amount you wish to send and include a birthday note in the “Add a note” section. Finally, click Pay to complete the transaction.
- To use this feature, both you and the recipient must have Facebook Pay set up with a linked debit card or PayPal account to send and receive money.
- If you need to add a payment method, open the Facebook app or website and click the menu button (top right on the website or bottom right on the app). Then, scroll down to Settings and Privacy, open Settings, select Payments, and then go to Facebook Pay. Follow the instructions to add a new debit card, credit card, or PayPal account.
Make a video call on Messenger and say 'Happy Birthday!'
If you can't meet in person, a video call is a great way to wish a happy birthday. Start by visiting their Facebook profile and clicking the Message button at the top. Then, click the video camera icon in the Messenger window to begin a video call. Be sure to have a special message ready or sing a birthday song when they answer.
- You can also create a “room” for a group video chat. Begin by clicking the + icon at the bottom of the chat window and select Create a room. On the Messenger app, click the Share button next to the room in the chat window to invite others to join the virtual party.
- On the website, click the Join room button and copy the link to the room page. Share this link with those you want to invite to the call.
Create a private birthday fan group for them.
This is a great way to celebrate with friends. To get started, select Groups from the menu at the bottom of the Facebook app or the left side of the website. Then, click the + at the top of the Groups page on the app or click Create new group on the left side of the website. Set up a new group for the birthday celebration. Choose a group name focused on the person, like “Happy Birthday Minh” or “An’s Birthday Fan Club.”
- If you want the group to be private, don't forget to select this option during the setup. You can also create a hidden group so only members can see it.
- Once the group is created, invite people by selecting users from your friends list, or copy the group link and send it to anyone you want to invite.
- Encourage friends to post messages, photos, videos, music, or anything else they think the birthday person would enjoy.
Host a birthday party using the 'Events' feature.
If you're planning a party, Facebook has a dedicated feature to help. Open the Facebook menu and go to the Events section. Click the Create button at the top of the Events page on the app, or on the left side of the website. From here, you can create either an in-person or online event. For example, you can:
- Give your event a name like “Phat’s 21st Birthday” or “Linh’s 30th Birthday Party”
- Add a cover photo
- Set the time and location of the event (or share a link if it's a virtual party)
- Invite others to the event
- Assign co-hosts from your friends list if you like
- Edit the privacy settings of the event
