Are you ready to alter your reality and step into another? 'Shifting reality' is a form of meditation and mental imagery. Practitioners believe they can enter their desired reality through affirmations and positive self-talk. If you'd like to try shifting your reality, you can select one of the methods listed below to begin your journey.
Things you need to know
- The 'Crow', Julia, 'Pillow', and 'Blanket' methods are beginner-friendly approaches to reality shifting.
- The 'Heartbeat', ADHD, and Estelle methods use music and sound to facilitate reality shifting.
- 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Mirror', 'Hug', and 'Piano' methods use multiple imagery scenes, making them most effective for advanced levels of reality shifting.
Steps
The 'Crow' Method

The 'Crow' method is the most popular (and simplest) technique for reality shifting. Lie down on your bed and fully relax your body. Count down from 100, inhaling and exhaling throughout the process. Focus on your desired reality while counting. When you reach 1, you will concentrate on entering your desired present and remain there for a while to shift your reality.
Julia's Method

Use music to shift your reality with Julia's method. Play theta brainwave beats or binaural beats (often called 'concentration music' on YouTube), then meditate for about 10 minutes. Repeat an affirmation starting with 'I am...' until you sense light or see a stream of light in your mind. Visualize your desired reality before slowly opening your eyes.
- Choose an affirmation like 'I am living in Paris' or 'I am a talented artist.'
- If helpful, you may also count to 100 while meditating.
The 'Pillow' Method

Shift your reality while sleeping with the 'Pillow' method. Write down a detailed description of your desired reality on paper. The more detailed, the better. Place the paper under your pillow and sleep on it for at least 8 hours. Upon waking, you will find yourself in your desired reality.
- When writing your desired reality, include all of your senses: how do you want it to feel? What are the sounds, tastes, and visuals like? These details will help you manifest your desired reality.
The 'Blanket' Method

Use a warm blanket to shift your reality. Get into bed and snuggle under your favorite blanket in a comfortable position. Repeat affirmations starting with 'I am...', then slowly count to 100. After leaving the blanket, step into your desired reality.
- If you suffer from claustrophobia, this method might not be ideal.
The 'Intention' Method

Use intention to shift your reality while you sleep. Before going to bed, think about the specific reason you want to shift your reality (your intention). Say aloud, 'I intend to wake up in my desired reality,' then lie down and fall asleep. When you wake up, you will find yourself in your desired reality.
- Some people find it helpful to meditate for 5-10 minutes before attempting this method.
Sunni's Method

Trick your mind into believing you're already in your desired reality. Lie down in a comfortable place and imagine yourself in your desired reality, as vividly as possible. Explore all five senses: touch, smell, sight, hearing, and taste. Repeat reality-shifting affirmations until you feel yourself shifting, then open your eyes.
- Reality-shifting affirmations could include phrases like 'I am shifting realities' or 'I am stepping into my desired reality.'
The 'Heartbeat' Method

Shift your reality with the heartbeat method. Search for heartbeat sounds on YouTube and play them while lying in bed. Mentally repeat affirmations as you drift off to sleep, then open your eyes to enter your desired reality.
- While using this method, you might feel like you’re falling, and that’s a good sign! Falling means you're shifting into your desired reality.
The ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Method

Eliminate all distractions to enter your desired reality. Put on headphones and listen to 8D sounds, such as white noise or ambient sounds. Lie down, focus on the sound, and begin counting down from 100. Repeat an affirmation while counting until you start noticing signs of shifting. When you feel ready, open your eyes to step into your desired reality.
- This method is called the ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) method because individuals with ADHD often use 8D sounds to enhance focus.
Estelle's Method

Use music and dance to step into your desired reality. Play a song you can dance to, then lie down and close your eyes. Imagine yourself dancing with someone important from your desired reality. When the song ends, follow the person you've been dancing with through a door to enter your desired reality.
- You may feel dizzy, paralyzed, or like you're falling—these are all signs that you are shifting realities.
Alice in Wonderland Method

Use the 'Alice in Wonderland' story to guide your journey into your desired reality. First, lie on your back and take deep breaths, imagining yourself sitting beside a tree. Repeat a few affirmations until you sense the shift. Imagine someone from your desired reality approaching and leading you to run after them. Then, follow them down a rabbit hole to enter your desired reality.
- At the bottom of the rabbit hole, visualize a pathway leading to your desired reality. When you open the door, you'll step into your desired reality.
The 'Train' Method

Imagine a train taking you to your desired reality. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take deep breaths to relax. Visualize yourself sitting in a train heading toward your desired reality. Repeat affirmations and only open your eyes when you feel the train has stopped.
- Many people use this method to shift to Hogwarts in Harry Potter.
The 'Staircase' Method

Follow the staircase leading you to your desired reality. Lie down comfortably and visualize yourself in a room with a grand staircase. Slowly ascend the steps, recalling memories (both good and bad) from your current reality. Continue upward until you reach the top, then open a large white door. Step through the door and descend the next staircase. At the bottom, open the final door and imagine your desired reality behind it.
- You may visualize someone important from your desired reality opening the door for you. As you take their hand, you will be guided into your desired reality.
The 'Elevator' Method

Step into the elevator to move into your desired reality. Get comfortable and imagine yourself stepping into an elevator. Visualize the elevator taking you up, imagining different realities as you pass each floor. When you feel you've reached the right height to enter your desired reality, step out of the elevator and walk into it.
- It may be helpful to imagine increasing energy levels as you ascend in the elevator.
The 'Eleven' Method

Use lessons from the show Stranger Things to shift realities. Lie down and tie a piece of cloth or a bandana over your eyes to block out light. Play white noise and imagine yourself approaching someone from your desired reality. Focus on blending with that person as you drift into sleep. When you wake up, you will be in your desired reality.
The 'Piano' Method

Imagine playing the piano to use music for shifting realities. Get comfortable and envision yourself sitting at a piano in a room full of people. Start playing and imagine the sound of the music as vividly as possible. When the song ends, leave the room and enter a hallway with many doors, then walk through the one with white light.
- As you pass through the doors, repeat affirmations to enter your desired reality.
- When the light fades, open your eyes to enter your desired reality.
The 'Melting' Method

Imagine yourself melting into your desired reality. Sit comfortably and close your eyes, then visualize yourself in your desired reality. Repeat affirmations and count from 1 to 100. Picture your entire body melting into your desired reality, then open your eyes.
The 'Hug' Method

Hug and converse with someone from your desired reality. Close your eyes and imagine waking up in your desired reality. Visualize stepping out of bed, placing your feet on the floor, and encountering someone from that reality in your room. Interact with them, then hug them goodbye. Repeat affirmations until you drift off to sleep.
The 'Mirror' Method

Visualize the desired reflection of yourself in the mirror to shift realities. Close your eyes and imagine being in a dark room with only a mirror in front of you. Walk towards the mirror and picture your reflection, but this time, it reflects your desired reality version of yourself. Place both hands on the mirror and touch your reflection, then slowly open your eyes.
The 'Falling Into' Method

Fall into your desired reality through a door. Visualize being in a hallway filled with doors. Walk towards the door at the end, opening it while imagining your desired reality. As the door opens, listen to your desired reality calling you. Allow yourself to fall into the pathway, letting your soul guide you as you descend. When you open your eyes, you’ll find yourself in your desired reality.
The 'Eye Roll' Method

Roll your eyes back and forth to shift into your desired reality. Lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and count to 100. While counting, focus on your desired reality and the things you wish to see. Once you reach 100, roll your eyes back and forth while keeping them closed, continuing to repeat affirmations. When you feel ready, open your eyes and step into your desired reality.
