Keep your YouTube space organized with these tips for blocking unwanted users
Looking to block someone on YouTube? Unfortunately, YouTube's standard platform doesn’t offer a feature to directly block users. This option is only available on YouTube Kids or within shared teen experiences. However, there are several alternatives to help you avoid unwanted content or prevent a user from commenting on your videos. Continue reading to find out more.
Methods to Block a YouTube ChannelAlthough YouTube doesn’t have an official block feature for channels, there are several alternatives: you can remove a channel from your recommendations, block it on YouTube Kids, hide the user from your channel, or use a third-party plugin to block them.
InstructionsRemoving Channel Suggestions

Navigate to the YouTube homepage. Unfortunately, there's no direct method to block a YouTube channel. The only option available is to inform YouTube that you no longer wish to see content from a particular channel.
- This can be done on both desktop and mobile versions.

Click the three-dot menu next to a video in your recommended feed. This option is available only for videos in your recommended feed and cannot be used in search results or on a creator's page.

Choose Don't recommend this channel. After selecting this, the channel will no longer appear in your recommendations. However, you might still see the channel if you visit their page, or if the user comments on other videos.
YouTube Kids & Supervised Environments

Visit the YouTube profile of the user you wish to block. This option is only available if you're using YouTube Kids or have set up a Shared Experience for your child. It can be done either through your linked parent account or directly on your child’s device.

Tap ...more located below the user's bio. On mobile, you will click directly on the user’s bio instead.

Click Report user. On mobile devices, tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner.

Choose Block channel for children. Follow the subsequent prompts to confirm that you want to block the user.
- If you ever wish to unblock the channel, simply revisit the user’s page and look for the Unblock button that appears in place of the Block button.
Blocking Users from Your Channel

Navigate to the profile of the YouTube user. Although this doesn’t technically block a user, you can hide them from your page so they can no longer comment on your videos or create clips of your livestreams.

Tap ...more located under the user's bio. On mobile, simply tap the user’s bio instead.

Click Report user. On mobile, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

Choose Hide user from my channel. This will prevent their comments from showing on your videos. If you want to view hidden users or their comments, head to YouTube Studio > Settings > Community. They’ll appear under the "Automated Filters" section.
Browser Extensions

Install a browser extension. Although YouTube doesn’t offer a built-in option to block users, you can use third-party browser extensions to block users on your behalf. Please note that these extensions only function on desktop versions, unless you use
Firefox and configure mobile extensions.
