Use Tinder's search feature to find people you've matched with
This is the only official method to search for specific people on Tinder. Tinder doesn't offer a search feature for finding people you haven’t matched with yet. However, if you've already matched with someone, you can search for them in your list of matches. Here's how to do it:
- Go to the main screen in the Tinder app and tap the Message icon, shaped like a speech bubble at the top of the screen.
- Pull down from the top of the screen until you see the search bar.
- Type the person's name in the search bar to locate them.
Narrow down your Discovery options to find that person
By setting more specific search options, you're more likely to match with the person you're looking for. This is an indirect way to find the person you need. To change your Discovery settings, follow these steps:
- Open the Tinder app and tap the
profile icon at the top of the screen.

Search for a user using Google's site search tool
Enter site:tinder.com and their name into Google.
This will give you search results only from the Tinder website. You can use either their real name or username if you know it. - For example, go to Google’s search bar and type site:tinder.com Kim Trang.
