Stream Apple TV+ to your Google Chromecast through your computer
Want to stream Apple TV on your Chromecast device? Although the Apple TV+ app doesn't natively support Chromecast, you can still cast the Apple TV website using Google Chrome. Here’s everything you need to know to get Apple TV on Chromecast.
How to Cast Apple TV to Chromecast
To cast Apple TV to Chromecast, open the Apple TV website in Google Chrome on a computer. Click ⋮ → Save and share → Cast…. Select your Chromecast from the list of available devices to start streaming.
Steps to Follow
Using Google Chrome
Visit https://tv.apple.com/ in Google Chrome. Since Chromecast doesn't directly support the Apple TV app, you can cast the website from the Chrome desktop browser.
Find a show or movie. If you're not logged into Apple TV yet, log in now. You can use the search bar to look for something specific or explore the homepage.
Click ⋮. This is located in the top-right corner.
- A menu will pop up.
Hover over Save and share. You'll find this option near the bottom of the menu.
Click Cast…. This option appears at the bottom of the menu.
Choose your device. On the Cast tab, you’ll find a list of available devices. Select your device to begin casting.
- If your device isn’t listed, ensure that it’s connected to the same network as your computer or laptop.
- The Apple TV tab will then be cast to your Chromecast or Smart TV.
Using Chromecast with Google TV
Set up Chromecast with Google TV. Chromecast with Google TV works similarly to other streaming devices like the Amazon Fire Stick or Roku. You can install the Apple TV app on Chromecast with Google TV and enjoy your favorite Apple TV shows and movies.
Select Apps. This is the tab located at the top.
Click Search. This icon is next to the magnifying glass.
Enter apple tv and search. Use the on-screen keyboard to type.
Click Install. The app will start downloading. Please wait for a moment.
Click Open. Apple TV will launch. You’ll be prompted to log in before you can begin watching.
Troubleshooting
Use AirPlay. If you're unable to cast to a Chromecast, you can opt for AirPlay. This method will enable you to cast directly to your Smart TV instead.
Check your internet connection. Ensure that both your Chromecast and casting device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network for proper recognition.
- If necessary, restart your network.
Is it possible to stream from Apple TV to Chromecast?
Apple TV is not compatible with Chromecast. However, you can explore alternatives such as using Google's Chromecast with Google TV or streaming through Google Chrome on your desktop. For Apple mobile apps, AirPlay is the only option.
