You can also use Shazam to recognize songs in videos you're watching on Chrome on your computer, including platforms like Hulu and Netflix. This article provides a simple guide with four easy methods to help you identify song titles in videos using Shazam across all devices.

Steps
Using Auto Shazam on Android, iPhone, or iPad
Install the Shazam app (if you haven't already). You'll need the Shazam app on Android, iPhone, or iPad to use Auto Shazam, a feature that helps you quickly identify the song currently playing. You can download the app from the App Store or Play Store.
- If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you don't necessarily need this method—you can use the Control Center to identify songs in videos instead of downloading the app. However, if you want features like connecting Shazam to Spotify or Apple Music, you can download the Shazam app.
- Auto Shazam is incredibly convenient when you want to automatically identify multiple songs in different videos without switching between apps.
Open the Shazam app and press and hold the large "S" icon. Once you release your finger, Shazam will be ready to listen and identify the song.
- If this is your first time using Shazam, you'll be prompted to grant the app microphone access. Make sure to allow it.
Play the video. When Auto Shazam is enabled, it will identify the song playing in the video on your phone or around you. This could be a YouTube video, a video saved on your phone, or music playing on your computer or TV.
Return to the Shazam app to view the identified song. Songs recognized by Shazam while Auto Shazam is active will appear under "My Music" on iPhone/iPad or in the Library tab on Android within the Shazam app.
- Auto Shazam will continue identifying songs as long as it's enabled—you don't need to activate Shazam for each video while Auto Shazam is running.
- If the video has no sound or contains obscure music that makes identification difficult, Shazam may take longer to recognize the artist and song title. If the app doesn't display the information, you can let Shazam listen for a longer period.
Tap the Shazam icon again to turn off Auto Shazam. The app will stop listening and identifying songs.
Using Control Center on iPhone and iPad
Add Shazam to Control Center. You can use the Shazam shortcut in Control Center to identify songs in any video, including those playing on your iPhone or iPad. Before you begin, you need to add the Shazam shortcut to Control Center. Here's how:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Swipe down and tap Control Center.
- Tap the + next to "Music Recognition".
Play the video. This could be a video in any app on your iPhone or iPad, including YouTube or your camera roll. You can also identify music in videos playing near you, such as on a TV or Mac.
Open Control Center. While watching the video, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen (if using an iPhone X or newer) or swipe up from the bottom (for iPhone SE and older models). You'll now see the Shazam button, which is a white circle with an "S" inside.
Tap the Shazam icon to identify the song in the video. Once the song is recognized, the artist and song title will appear on the screen.

- If you haven't installed Shazam yet, you can download it from the Play Store.
- Open the Shazam app and swipe to the Library tab.
- Tap the gear icon and enable "Shazam from Pop-Up."
- Tap Go To Settings and turn on "Allow display over other apps."
Play a video in any app. With Pop-Up Shazam, no matter which app you're using to play the video, the floating Shazam icon will always be on the screen for instant access. Simply play the video in your preferred app to get started.
Tap the floating Shazam icon. It's a circle with an "S" inside. The Shazam app will launch and, after a moment, identify the song in the video.
- You can dismiss the floating icon anytime by dragging it to the X at the bottom of the screen.
- To keep the floating icon visible after identifying a song, swipe down from the top to open the notification panel and tap the Shazam notification.
- If Shazam notifications aren't enabled, you can open the Shazam app and start identifying songs—the floating icon will reappear shortly.
Utilize the Shazam extension for Chrome on Windows and Mac

- Launch Google Chrome (or a Chrome-compatible browser like Edge).
- Visit https://www.shazam.com/home.
- Click on Chrome Extension in the middle of the page.
- Press the blue Add to Chrome button.
- Select Add extension to confirm.
Open a video. You can start a YouTube video, play a video saved on your computer, or even use an online streaming platform like Netflix or Hulu.
Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner of the Chrome browser. This action displays all installed Chrome extensions, including Shazam.
