If Your Thermostat Still Won’t Reset

Try replacing the batteries. A failed reset could simply mean the batteries are drained. Detach the thermostat faceplate and insert a fresh set of batteries. If low power was the issue, your device should power back on instantly—then you can adjust it to your preferred temperature.

Consider replacing the thermostat. If fresh batteries and the correct reset procedure haven’t resolved the issue and your unit still won’t function, it’s likely time for a replacement. You can install a new thermostat by ordering directly from Copeland, the parent company of White Rodgers, or find one available on Amazon.
