Steps to Follow
Creating Your Account

Open Plenty of Fish. You can either launch the mobile app (with an icon resembling a fish, found on your Home screen, in the app drawer, or by searching) or visit https://www.pof.com in your browser.
- If you don't have the Plenty of Fish app yet, you can download it for free from either the App Store or Google Play Store.

Click Sign Up. You'll find this option in the top-right corner of the page.

Fill in your details. You will be required to provide your username, password, email address, gender, birthdate, country, and ethnicity to proceed.

Click Proceed. If there are any problems with your account details, such as an incorrect email address, the field will be highlighted in red. Simply correct the entry and continue.

Complete the questionnaire. All fields must be filled out to move forward; click the "Select" link to open a drop-down menu of available options, then click to choose your answer.
- The initial sections will require you to select from drop-down menus. As you scroll down, you'll encounter text fields to enter your headline, description, interests, and optional conversation starters. For the description, aim for at least 100 characters to showcase your hobbies, goals, uniqueness, music preferences, or anything else you'd like to share.
- Ensure that your profile headline, description, and interests are free of sexual language to avoid potential account deletion.

Click Set Up My Profile Now!. You can find this option at the bottom of the page.

Verify your account using your phone number. Without a phone number, you won't be able to create an account.
- Enter the verification code sent to you. Make sure to verify within the allotted time by accessing your phone right after entering the number.
- If you're using a mobile device, you may be asked to share your location with POF. Tap Allow to continue.

Choose photos to upload. You must upload a clear photo of yourself to proceed. Ensure your face is easily visible in the picture. Photos featuring cartoons, celebrities, or topless shots will be removed.
- Any images containing nudity will result in your account being deleted.

Click Proceed to Final Step. This option appears at the bottom of the page, and you can only continue once you've uploaded a photo.
- You've completed your registration with POF and set up your profile. Now, keep taking quizzes and tests to get even better matches that suit you more.
Exploring POF (App and Desktop)

Open Plenty of Fish. You can use the mobile app (look for the fish icon on your Home screen, in the app drawer, or search for it) or visit https://www.pof.com through any web browser.

Click Inbox at the top of the page. This is where you'll find all the messages you've sent and received. To read a message, simply click on it. You can reply, attach a previously uploaded image, send a gift (requires a paid subscription), or delete the conversation.
- If you're on your phone, tap the Messages icon in the middle of the screen.

Click My Matches at the top of the page. This section displays all profiles that meet the criteria you selected during account setup, like whether you’re open to dating someone who smokes.
- On mobile, tap the fish logo > My Matches.
- You can further refine your matches by adjusting the filters in the drop-down menus on the web version.
- If you haven't completed the Relationship Needs Assessment, a prompt in red text will appear asking you to do so.

Click Contacts at the top of the page. This section will display your top prospects from the users you've already reached out to.
- If you're browsing on mobile, tap the fish logo > Will Respond to find matches most likely to respond to your message.

Click Meet Me at the top of the page. This page will show you potential matches within your area. You can select No, Maybe, Super Yes, or Yes if you're interested in meeting them.
- Super Yes requires tokens, which are priced at about $1.99 each.
- If you're using a mobile device, tap the fish logo > Meet Me for this option.

Click New Users at the top of the page. This section will display the 20 most recent sign-ups that fit your dating criteria, which includes a 50-mile radius from your zip code.
- The POF mobile app doesn’t have access to this feature.

Click My City at the top of the page. This page displays users who are located in your city.
- On mobile, tap the fish logo > Nearby to view how far away a person is from you, listed under their profile photo.

Click the notification bell icon at the top of the page. A drop-down menu will show you all your recent notifications, including profiles that want to meet you. Notifications you haven’t checked will appear with a blue background, while those you've already read will be white. Click on a notification to see more details. Please note, some features are only available to upgraded members.
Sending a Flirt

Open Plenty of Fish. You can either use the mobile app (look for the fish icon on your Home screen, app drawer, or by searching) or visit https://www.pof.com on your web browser.

Go to a profile you're interested in. You can find profiles in places like Meet Me and My Matches.
- Click on a profile to view its full page.

Click Show Interest. This button appears next to the "Send a Flirt" option. Clicking it sends a simple message saying "Hey there :)" directly to that person's inbox.
- If you prefer, you can also type your own message in the text box below the profile photo.
Upgrading from the Free Version to a Paid Account

Open the Plenty of Fish app. You can do this on mobile (find the fish-shaped icon on your Home screen, app drawer, or by searching), or visit https://www.pof.com through your web browser.
- This method is ideal if you're looking to pay for extra features, like seeing who has liked your profile.

Click Upgrade. You’ll find this pink button in the navigation menu at the top of the page or at the top of your screen on mobile.

Select your subscription plan. You can choose between the 8, 4, or 2-month options.
- The panel on the right side of the page will show you the benefits of upgrading, such as an ad-free POF experience.

Provide your payment details. You can pay using your credit or debit card information, or choose PayPal and enter your PayPal account details.

Click Upgrade. After upgrading, you will receive an email confirmation with your subscription start date, the amount you paid, and when the next renewal will occur.
- If you'd like to hide or delete your POF profile, click Help in the navigation menu and then select Delete account in the center of the page (you may need to scroll to find it).

The mobile app functions similarly to the website when it comes to signing up, sending flirts, and navigating through the platform. So, whether you’re using the app or the website, you can apply the same methods to guide you through each step.
