In this guide, Mytour will show you how to access the Archive folder in Outlook. You can reach the Archived folder via the sidebar on Outlook.com or through the Windows Mail app. On the Outlook app, you'll need to open the Outlook email file.
Steps
Access the Archive Folder on the Outlook Website

Visit https://www.outlook.com using any web browser on your PC or Mac.

Log in to your Outlook account. Use the email address and password linked to your Outlook.com account to sign in.
- If you don't have an Outlook account, you can create one for free by clicking "Create One" below the login box.

Click on the Archive option located in the left sidebar of your Outlook inbox.
- To archive an email from your inbox, right-click on the email and select "Archive" from the dropdown menu.
Access the Archive Folder on Windows Mail

Open the Mail app. The app icon appears as an envelope and is located on the right side of your Windows taskbar.

Click on the All Folders icon. This folder icon, shaped like a folder, is located in the left sidebar.

Click on Archive to view your archived emails.
- To archive an email in Windows Mail, right-click on the email and choose "Archive" from the dropdown menu.
Access the Archive Folder in the Outlook App

Open Outlook. The app icon looks like an envelope with a blue cover featuring the letter "O" inside.
- If the Outlook app isn't already on your desktop, click the Windows Start icon and type Outlook. Outlook will appear in the Start menu.

Click on the View option. This option is located in the top menu bar.
- On Mac, you can skip this step.

Click on the Folder Pane button. This button is located in the left sidebar and has a text icon in blue. A dropdown menu will appear.
- On Mac, you will need to click the envelope icon in the lower left corner.

Click on Normal (Standard). The folder pane will appear on the left sidebar.
- If you're on a Mac, you can skip this step.



Click on Archive. When you click on the Archive folder in the left column, all the archived emails will appear in the right pane.
- You can search for archived emails by using the search bar at the top of the email list pane. Click the dropdown menu next to the search bar and select "Archive Folder".
Import the archived Outlook email file into the Outlook application

Open Outlook. The app icon is an envelope with a blue cover featuring the letter "O" inside.
- If Outlook isn't on your desktop, click the Windows Start button and type Outlook. Outlook will appear in the Start menu.

Click on File (File). This option is found in the top menu bar, on the upper-left corner. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Open & Export (Open & import). This is the second option in the File menu.
- On a Mac, select Import from the dropdown menu.

Click on Open Outlook Data File (Open the Outlook data file). A file browser dialog will appear.
- On a Mac, choose the file type for storage you wish to import, and click Continue.

Select the Outlook data file you want to import. These files will be saved as Outlook data files with the prefix ".pst". By default, these data files are located in C:\Users\username\Documents\Outlook Files, where you simply replace username with your current Windows account name.

Click OK at the bottom right of the Open Outlook Data File dialog box.
- On a Mac, click on Import.

Click on Archive. Now, you can browse the folders under the "Archive" heading in the navigation pane.
