Steps
Using the Advanced Option in Windows 10





Click on Update & security. This option features a curved arrow icon.

Click on Recovery located in the left column.

Click on Restart now. This option is found under the ″Advanced startup″ section in the right panel. Your PC will restart and display a blue menu.

Click on Troubleshoot in the menu. This option features a wrench and screwdriver icon.

Click on Advanced options. This is the bottommost option.

Click on UEFI Firmware Settings. This option is located in the right column.

Click on Restart. Your PC will reboot into BIOS.
Using the Shift key on Windows 10/8.1/8
Log out of Windows.Windows 10:Start
- Press the key combination ⊞ Win+X.
- Choose Shut down or sign out from the menu. This option is located at the bottom of the list.
- Click on Sign out to log off.

Hold down the ⇧ Shift key and click on Restart. Keep holding the key until the PC restarts and the blue menu screen appears.

Click on Troubleshoot in the menu. This option is identified by a wrench and screwdriver icon.

Select the Advanced options located at the bottom of the menu.

Click on UEFI Firmware Settings in the right-hand column.

Click on Restart. The PC will reboot directly into the BIOS.
Explore advanced options available on Windows 8.1/8

Move your cursor to the top right corner of the home screen and swipe downward. A menu will appear.

Click on Settings.

Select Change PC Settings (Alter PC configurations). This option is located at the bottom of the menu.

Choose Update and recovery (Updates and recovery). This option is found at the bottom of the left column.

Select Recovery from the left-hand column.

Click on Restart now under the ″Advanced startup″ heading on the right panel. Your PC will restart and display a blue menu.

Choose Troubleshoot from the menu. This option is represented by a wrench and screwdriver icon.

Click on Advanced options located at the bottom.

Select UEFI Firmware Settings from the right-hand column.

Click on the Restart button. Your PC will reboot directly into the BIOS.
Utilize the function key during the reboot process (applicable to all Windows versions).

Restart or power on your computer. As soon as the computer reboots, a black screen with a large white "lenovo" logo will appear. This screen only lasts for a few seconds, so you need to act quickly for the next step.
- For Windows 8/8.1, you must restart the computer from within Windows to access the BIOS. From the Windows desktop, press the key combination ⊞ Win+i, click on Power, and then select Restart.

Continuously press the F1 or F2 key (approximately twice per second) until the BIOS screen appears. The specific key required for your current model will be displayed at the bottom of the "lenovo" screen, next to the words "to Setup".
