Have you ever found yourself thinking, "I've got blackheads now!" or "How can I get rid of these annoying pimples?" Or wondered why that girl has such smooth, flawless skin while yours seems to have imperfections? Don’t be envious, because you too can achieve perfect skin by following these simple steps.
Steps to Follow

Identify Your Skin Type. Is your skin oily, dry, normal, or combination? To figure this out, wash your face and leave it to dry for one hour. Then, press a blotting paper on the T-zone (the area between your nose and cheeks) and check:
- Normal skin will not leave any oil or flakes on the blotting paper. If you touch the paper, it will feel smooth and soft. If your skin is normal, consider yourself lucky!
- Oily skin will leave an oily residue on the paper. Those with oily skin often have large pores and a shiny appearance.
- Dry skin will feel rough or may have flaking skin. This is the primary cause of blackheads on dry skin. It’s essential to moisturize this type of skin.
- Combination skin is the most common type. It combines aspects of all three types of skin. People with combination skin tend to have oily skin in the T-zone and normal or dry skin on other parts of the face.

Invest in suitable products like facial cleansers, toners, moisturizers, and exfoliating masks. (If you are still young, you might not need an exfoliating mask yet.) You may need to try a few different brands before finding the right one. Speak with a skincare consultant at the store, and they can let you try different products, or even provide free samples for 1-2 days.
- Choose facial cleansers, toners, and moisturizers that are free of acne-causing ingredients. These products won’t clog your pores, which is what leads to breakouts.
- If you have severe acne or other skin issues like eczema, it's best to consult a dermatologist. Dermatologists can prescribe the appropriate treatments. Prescription products tend to be more effective.

Apply sunscreen with SPF 15+ every day. Use sunscreen specifically designed for the face, free from fragrances or oils. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV-A and UV-B rays that can lead to damage or skin cancer.
- There are now many moisturizers that also offer sun protection. Try out a few different moisturizers to find one that protects your skin from the sun while keeping your face hydrated.
Use facial cleanser daily. If you only wash your face once a week, you won't see much improvement. Additionally, use exfoliating masks a few times a week to remove dead skin cells.
- Avoid using face towels, loofahs, or any abrasive materials that might irritate your skin. Washing your face with your hands is the best choice to prevent irritation.
- Cleanse your face in the morning and evening. This is especially important for oily and acne-prone skin.
- Moisturize right after washing your face. Cleansing helps remove oil, but your skin can only look and feel great if it's properly hydrated.
Remove makeup. Always remove your makeup before going to bed. Usually, washing your face thoroughly is enough, but some makeup products require a special makeup remover.
- Don’t be lazy about removing makeup. If you’re tempted to go to bed without removing your makeup or forget to wash your face, keep cotton pads next to your bed. You’ll just need to quickly wipe your face when you're too tired.

Eat properly. A healthy diet is a balanced one. Do you remember the food pyramid? Nutrition experts recommend eating 3 servings of fruit and 5 servings of vegetables each day. Avoid caffeine, sugary foods, and foods high in fats and red meat.

Drink plenty of water. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water, mostly pure water, every day. Limit sugary sodas, caffeinated drinks, and coffee. Green tea/peppermint tea is rich in antioxidants, which help protect cells from aging and cancer.

Exercise. Regular physical activity boosts metabolism. Taking a walk with your dog or doing some yoga exercises will make you feel the difference! Remember, healthy skin can only come from a healthy body.
- Exercise is also great for relieving stress. Studies show a strong connection between body stress levels and acne. So, if you're constantly stressed, try your favorite workout to get rid of acne quickly.

Rest. You need to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, or more if you're younger. Proper rest helps your body regain energy for work and also makes you feel more refreshed. You can't expect smooth skin with dark circles from sleep deprivation.
- Stick to a daily routine, and you'll soon see results!
Advice
- Olive oil can be a great alternative to makeup removers. It's also good for your skin. If your skin is sensitive to certain chemicals, olive oil is a great choice. It penetrates the pores without causing acne.
- Use non-comedogenic makeup products. BB creams, powder foundations, or mineral foundations are good options.
- Try a diluted mixture of Neem oil (Indian lilac) or green tea to treat acne, as it contains antibacterial properties and is suitable for sensitive skin.
- Use exfoliating products with AHA or BHA to treat acne.
- One important thing is to maintain clean and healthy skin. Always use sunscreen daily with an adequate amount and reapply as needed. Choose sunscreen with SPF 30 and PA+++ (3 plus).
- Use a daily moisturizer to keep your skin soft.
- Quit smoking if you don't want wrinkles and age spots to appear prematurely.
- Make sure to use a specialized makeup remover, as facial cleansers only remove dirt and oils from the skin's surface.
- Warm a little honey, apply it to your face, and rinse it off after 15 minutes.
- Try to use facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer every night before bed, washing your face with water and applying moisturizer in the morning.
Warning
- Daily cleansing and moisturizing are as crucial as using sunscreen when applying makeup.
- If you're a teenager, select products that suit your skin type. Don’t hesitate to seek advice from a makeup professional if needed.
- Always check the ingredients in cosmetics and opt for products containing active ingredients scientifically proven to benefit your skin.
- Look for sunscreens designed specifically for the face. These products offer light coverage and are nearly non-comedogenic. This is particularly important if you use a sunscreen with a high SPF.
- Sunscreen is essential for all skin tones. Even fair to dark skin can suffer damage from UV rays, which may lead to skin cancer.
