How to Add a Location to Google Maps

Launch Google Maps. Tap the Google Maps app with the pin icon on the map. This will open the map screen.

• Select a Google account or enter your email and password if prompted.

Tap on the ☰ icon at the top left corner of the screen. A menu will appear here.

Tap on Add a missing place option (Thêm địa điểm bị thiếu). This choice can be found near the bottom of the menu. Once clicked, you will be redirected to the "Add a place" page.

Enter the name of the place. Tap on the "Name" field located near the top of the screen and type the name of the location.

Input the address. Tap on the "Address" field and enter the street number and name of the location. Ensure the city, state, and ZIP code are filled in correctly.

Select a category for the location. Simply tap on the "Category" field and choose the relevant category for the place.

Provide additional optional details. You can include extra information about the location:

• Phone number - Tap on the Phone field and enter the location's phone number.
• Website - Tap on the Website field and input the website address of the location.
• Set business hours - Tap on the Add hours option, select the days of operation, then set the opening and closing times by tapping on SET OPEN AND CLOSE HOURS and choosing the precise hours. After adding the hours for at least one day, you can add hours for other days by tapping on ADD HOURS.

Tap SEND (Send). This button is located in the top-right corner of the screen. Pressing it sends your request to Google, and you'll receive an email within two weeks to notify you whether the request has been accepted.

• On some Android devices, you will tap the paper airplane icon in place of SEND in the top-right corner.

Open Google Maps. Visit https://www.google.com/maps from your browser. If you are already signed in to Google Maps, you can add a location directly from this site.

• If you're not signed in, click on Sign in in the top-right corner and enter your Google email and password to proceed.

Click on ☰. This option can be found in the top-left corner of the page. A menu will appear from the left side of the window.

Click on Add a missing place (Add missing place). This link is located near the bottom of the current menu. Once you click on it, a window titled "Add a place" will appear at the top-left of the page.

Enter the name of the location. Click on the "Name" field at the top of the "Add a place" window, then type the name of the location you'd like to add.

Enter the location's address. Fill in the house number and street name in the "Address" field. Be sure to include the city, state, and ZIP code (if applicable).

Select a category. Click on the "Category" field, then choose a category for the location (e.g., Restaurant) from the dropdown menu.

• If you're looking for a specific category, you can type the information into the search field.

Provide additional details about the location. Here are some optional details you can add:

• Phone number - Click on the Phone field and enter the location's phone number.
• Website - Click on the Website field and type in the location's website address.
• Operating hours - Click on the Add hours link, select the days the location is open, and enter the opening and closing times. You can click on Add hours again to add hours for other days if needed.

Click on Submit (Send). This is the blue button located at the bottom-right corner of the "Add a place" window. If the place you entered is not yet available on Google Maps, this action will send a request to add the location to Google. You will receive an email confirming whether the place was added or not within two weeks.

• If the place already exists, a notification window will appear showing the current address of the place.
• If the notification window shows that the existing address is incorrect, you can click on SUBMIT ANYWAY (Continue sending).
