How to Add a Profile Picture to Your YouTube Account

Today, Mytour will show you how to set a profile picture for your YouTube account. Since YouTube is part of Google, the profile picture you use for your Google account will automatically be applied to your YouTube profile as well.

Visit https://www.youtube.com in your web browser. You can use any web browser on either a PC or a Mac to do this.

Log in to your YouTube account. If you're not automatically signed in, click on the Sign In button in blue at the top-right corner of the YouTube page. Then, select the Google account associated with your YouTube profile.

• If there are no accounts linked, click on Use another account and log in with the email and password associated with your YouTube account.

Click on the icon in the upper-right corner. This is where your profile picture usually appears. If you haven't set one up, you'll see a colored circle with a generic person icon. After clicking, the account menu will appear.

Click on the Edit on Google button. This green text appears next to your name and profile image at the top of the Settings menu. The 'About Me' page of your Google account will open.

Click on the Upload Photo button. This is the first square in the upper-left corner of the 'Pick a Photo' window. A file browser will appear, allowing you to choose an image.

Choose an image and click the Open button. Use the file browser to locate the image file on your computer. Different folders will appear on the left sidebar of the file explorer. Click on the image file to select it, then press Open in the lower-right corner of the file explorer.

• Ensure that the file is saved on your computer before attempting to upload it.
• If the image is already uploaded to your Google account, you can select it from the 'Pick a photo' window.

Click on the Done button at the top-right corner of the 'Pick a photo' window. The changes you've made will be confirmed. The image you selected will now apply to all your Google accounts, including YouTube.

Launch the YouTube app. The app's icon is a red TV screen with a white 'Play' triangle in the middle. Tap the app icon on your home screen to open it.

• If you're not automatically signed in, tap the person icon in the top-right corner and select the Google account linked to your YouTube account. If the desired account is not listed, tap Add account and log in with the email and password associated with your YouTube account.

Tap the icon in the top-right corner where your profile picture typically appears. If you haven't set a profile picture for your YouTube account, it will display as a colored circle with a person icon in the center.

Click on your name located beneath the profile icon at the top of the 'Account' menu. A list of accounts that you can sign into will appear.

Click on the account where you'd like to set a new profile picture. The Google account menu for that account will be displayed.

Click on the Update Photo button. This green text is located beneath your name and email at the top of the Google Account menu.

Click on the Set profile photo option. This green text is located in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up menu.

Tap on Take photo or Choose from photos. If you wish to take a photo using your camera, tap Take photo. If you prefer to choose an image, tap Choose from photos.

• If prompted, allow YouTube to access your images by tapping Allow.

Choose or capture a photo. If you want to take a new photo, tap the round icon at the bottom of the screen to snap a picture, then press Use Photo to set it. If you'd prefer, you can also tap Camera roll and select an image to use as your YouTube profile picture. This image will be set as your YouTube profile avatar.

Launch the Google app. The Google app features a white icon with the letters 'G' in red, yellow, green, and blue. Tap the icon on your home screen, in the Google folder, or from the app drawer to open the Google app.

Tap the More … (More options) button at the lower right corner of the app. This button features three horizontal dots.

Tap your name and email address located at the top-left corner of the 'More' menu.

Tap the Google account linked to your YouTube account. If the Google account you're logged into isn't the one connected to YouTube, select the correct account from the menu.

• If no YouTube-linked account appears in the list, press Add another account and sign in with the email address and password associated with your YouTube account.

Tap Manage your Google account. This option is located beneath your name and email address at the top of the screen. The Google account menu will appear.

Tap the Personal info tab. This is the second tab at the top of the screen, where you can edit your personal profile.

Tap the Photo option. This is the first option at the top of the Personal Info menu.

Tap the round profile icon above your name. This could either be your current avatar or a circular icon with a silhouette of a person inside. The 'Pick a photo' menu will appear.

Click on the Upload Photo. This button is located in the top-left corner of the "Pick a photo" menu. A list of apps for selecting images will appear.

• If the photo is already uploaded to Google, simply click on it within the "Pick a photo" menu to set it as your profile picture.

Click on Capture image (Take a picture) or Files (Files). If you wish to take a photo using your camera, select Capture image, tap on Camera, and use the white button at the bottom of the screen to snap the picture. To choose an image from your Gallery, tap Files and select the file you wish to use as your profile picture.

• If prompted to allow Google access to your camera or images, click Allow.

Click on Done in the top-right corner of the screen to confirm your profile picture. This will finalize the image selection and set it as your profile picture for Google and YouTube.
