This article provides a step-by-step guide on bookmarking web pages using the Safari browser app on iPhone, iPad, or desktop.
Steps
On iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Launch the Safari app. It’s the blue and white app featuring a compass icon.

Visit the website. Bookmarks are typically used for sites you frequently visit or want to remember for future access.



Tap on Add Bookmark. This is the gray open book icon displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Name the bookmark. You can keep the auto-filled website name or delete it and enter a custom name.

Choose where to save the bookmark. A list of available folders appears under the LOCATION section of the screen. Tap a folder if you want to save the bookmark there. If you want the bookmark to appear at the top of the list, don’t select a folder.
- To create a new bookmark folder, tap the bookmark icon in Safari. It’s the option with two curved blue pages. Tap Edit in the corner of the screen, then tap New Folder, enter a name for the new folder, and tap Bookmarks below the folder.


On Desktop

Click on Bookmarks in the menu bar.

Click on Add Bookmark… in the dropdown menu.

Name the bookmark. You can keep the auto-filled website name or delete it and enter a custom name of your choice.

Choose where to save the bookmark. A list of available folders appears under the "Add this page to" dropdown menu.
- To add a new folder, click Bookmarks in the menu bar, then click Add Bookmark Folder. This will add an "untitled folder" to the Safari bookmarks list. Click the folder to rename it.

Click Add.
- To access a bookmark, simply click Bookmarks in the menu bar and select the bookmark you want to open.
- Click Bookmarks in the menu bar and select Show Bookmarks to open the bookmarks section.
- Click Bookmarks in the menu bar and choose Edit Bookmarks to move, delete, or rename bookmarks.
