Today, Mytour will guide you through various methods to insert captions into your Microsoft Word documents.
Steps
Add captions by right-clicking

Double-click the Word document you wish to edit. The document will open in Microsoft Word.

Click and drag your mouse over the text. The text will highlight. Select any content you wish to annotate, such as a sentence or paragraph.

Right-click or use a two-finger tap to select the text. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on New Comment at the bottom of the right-click menu.

Enter your comment. The annotation will appear on the right side of the Microsoft Word window.

Click anywhere on the document. The comment will be anchored to the selected location, allowing you to continue adding notes to other sections.
- Ensure you save the document before closing it, or your comments will be lost.
Add Comments Using Track Changes

Double-click the Word document you want to edit. The document will open in Microsoft Word.

Click on the Review tab. This tab is located in the blue section at the top of the document. A new set of options related to document editing will appear.

Click on Track Changes. This feature is located at the top of the Word window, near the center of the screen. Clicking it will enable the "Track Changes" feature in Microsoft Word.

Click the dropdown menu next to Track Changes. The following editing options will appear:
- Simple Markup – Displays a red vertical line to the left of any added or deleted text (other edits are not shown).
- All Markup – Highlights all changes made to the document with red text and comment boxes on the left side of the page.
- No Markup – Shows your changes alongside the original document without red text or comment boxes.
- Original – Displays only the original document without showing any changes.

Click on All Markup. This option allows you to leave comments for others to review if needed.

Click the New Comment button located near the middle of the "Review" toolbar at the top of the Word window.

Enter your comment. The annotation will appear on the right side of the Microsoft Word window.

Click anywhere on the document. The comment will be anchored to the selected location, allowing you to continue adding notes to other sections.
- Make sure to save the document before closing it, or your comments will be lost.
Add Handwritten Comments

Double-click the Word document you want to edit. The document will open in Microsoft Word.

Click on the Review tab. This tab is located in the blue section at the top of the document. A new set of options related to document editing will appear.

Click on Track Changes. This feature is located at the top of the Word window, near the center of the screen. Clicking it will enable the "Track Changes" feature in Microsoft Word.

Click the dropdown menu next to Track Changes. The following editing options will appear:

- All Markup - Highlights all changes made to the document with red text and comment boxes on the left side of the page.

Click on Ink Comment (Write Comment) in the top-right corner of the "Comments" section in the toolbar at the top of the page.

Enter your comment in the box on the right side of the page.
- If your computer does not have a touchscreen, you can click and drag the mouse to draw.
- The horizontal lines in the box will disappear once you post the comment.

Click or tap anywhere on the document. The comment will be anchored to the selected location, allowing you to continue adding notes to other sections.
- Make sure to save the document before closing it, or your comments will be lost.
Reply to a Comment

Double-click the edited Word document. The document will open in Microsoft Word.

Hover your mouse over the comment. Several options will appear below the annotation.

Click on Reply. This option is located on the far left, just below the selected comment.

Enter your response. Your reply will be indented below the original comment.

Click anywhere on the document. Your reply will be anchored to the document alongside the original comment.
Tips
- You can click on Resolve below the comment to remove it from the editing pane on the right side.
