Vaping (or using e-cigarettes) is a fun way to reduce stress without introducing too many harmful chemicals into your body. However, e-cigarettes consist of many parts, so it can be confusing the first time you disassemble it to refill it with essential oil (e-liquid). Whether you have a top-fill or bottom-fill e-cigarette, you’ll need to remove parts before you begin. Then, drop a few drops of essential oil directly onto the coil, fill the tank with e-liquid, and reassemble the device for use.
Steps
Top-Fill E-Cigarette
Remove the tank from the e-cigarette. Twist off the bottom airflow ring and gently pull out the coil. Do not open the tank yet, nor the top connector or mouthpiece.
- If changing flavors, clean the tank before adding e-liquid.
Place one drop of essential oil into each hole on the coil. The essential oil bottle usually comes with a dropper. Open the bottle and draw the oil into the dropper. Then, hold the coil horizontally with your thumb and index finger and place one drop of oil into each hole on the coil. This will ensure the essential oil soaks evenly into the cotton wick inside the coil.
- Typically, the coil has about 6 holes.
- This step helps to prolong the life of the coil.
Fill the tank with essential oil up to the indicated line. Twist off the top connector of the tank to reveal the filling slot. Then, insert the dropper tip into the filling groove around the tank. Pump the oil into the tank until it reaches the designated fill line on the side of the tank.
- Be careful not to let the oil spill into the center of the tank as this is the air tube. If you accidentally get e-liquid in this tube, you might inhale liquid oil.
Reassemble the e-cigarette. Once the tank is full, screw the top connector and mouthpiece back on. Then, insert the coil and screw the bottom base back on. You're all set!
Wait 2-3 minutes before use. After assembling all the parts, wait for 2-3 minutes to allow the oil to soak into the coil. After this, you can use the e-cigarette as usual.
Bottom-Fill E-Cigarette
Remove the coil from the bottom. Twist off the metal base of the device and set it aside. Then, take the coil out from the tank.
- If you're switching to a new e-liquid flavor, this is a good time to clean the tank.
Drop essential oil into the coil and reassemble the device. After removing the coil, use the dropper or squeeze bottle to add 1 or 2 drops of e-liquid into the coil.
Fill the tank with essential oil. Twist off the entire metal base of the device to access the tank. Insert the dropper or squeeze bottle tip into the tank and squeeze repeatedly to fill the tank until the oil reaches the maximum fill line.
Reassemble the e-cigarette parts. After filling the tank, place the coil back into the tank and screw the base back on. You're ready to go!
Wait 2-3 minutes before starting to vape. The coil needs a few minutes to absorb the essential oil, so allow 2-3 minutes before using it as usual.
