This article provides a detailed guide on how to add music to your iPod using iTunes on your computer or by purchasing and downloading tracks directly from the iPod's iTunes Store app.
Steps
Transfer Music to iTunes

Launch iTunes on your computer. It’s the application featuring a multicolored musical note icon on a white background, surrounded by a colorful circle.
- If iTunes prompts you to download the latest version, proceed with the update.

Connect your iPod to the computer. Plug the USB end of the iPod cable into the computer and the other end into the charging port of your iPod.
- If iTunes is set to automatically sync music, simply open iTunes and connect your iPod to add new music to it.

Click on the management menu. You’ll find this menu at the top-left corner of the screen, next to the iPod icon.

Click on Music. This is the first option in the menu.

Select "Library" from the options. In the "Library" section on the left side of the iTunes window, you’ll see various ways to organize your music, such as:
- Recently Added
- Artists
- Albums
- Songs
- Genres

Click and drag music to your iPod. Drag a song or album from the library on the right side of the window to the iPod icon on the left, under the "Devices" section.
- A blue rectangle will appear over the iPod icon.
- You can select multiple items by clicking on them while holding the Ctrl key (on Windows) or ⌘ Command key (on Mac).

Transfer songs to your iPod. Once you release the mouse button or trackpad, the selected music will begin uploading to your iPod.

Wait for the music transfer to complete. After the process finishes, you can safely disconnect your iPod from the computer.
- Locate your music in the Music app under the "Downloaded Music" section within your Library.
Purchase music from the iTunes Store app

Launch the iTunes Store app. It’s the purple app featuring a white music note inside a white circle.
- Ensure you have a Wi-Fi connection to use this method.

Search for music. You can do this in several ways:
- Tap on Search. This is the magnifying glass icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- If you’re looking for a specific song, artist, or genre, tap the "Search" field at the top of the screen. Enter the song title, artist name, or keyword, then select the result you want.
- Tap on Music. This is the music note icon at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Use this option to browse songs, albums, artists, ringtones, and genres available on the iTunes Store.

Tap on the price. To download a song or album, simply tap the price displayed next to the track or album name.

Tap on BUY (MEDIA) (Buy). This button also displays the price. Tap it to confirm your purchase. The purchased music will automatically download to your iPod.
- Find your purchased music in the Music app under the "Downloaded Music" section in your Library.
Download purchased music

Open the iTunes Store app. It’s the purple app featuring a white music note inside a white circle.
- A Wi-Fi connection is required for this method.

Tap on More (More). This is the three-dot icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Purchased
Tap on the Music (Music) category.

Tap on Not on This iPod (Not on This iPod) at the top right corner of the screen.

Tap on the artist or song name. Music is organized alphabetically by the artist's name.


- This will download the music or video to your iPod.
- Find your music in the Music app under the "Downloaded Music" section in your Library.
