Today, Mytour will guide you on how to change the text size on both Windows and Mac computers, as well as on web browsers.
Steps
On Windows Computers





Click on System (System). This screen icon is located at the top left of the Settings window.

Click on the Display tab at the top-left corner of the window.

Click on the dropdown option "Change the size of text, apps, and other items". This option is located near the center of the Settings window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Choose a size. In the dropdown menu, select the percentage you wish to zoom in to.
- The smallest size you can select is 100%.
- Some text may not resize until the computer restarts.

You may want to consider using the Magnifier. Magnifier is a feature that allows you to zoom in to view items on the screen without altering other settings:
- Press ⊞ Win++ to activate the Magnifier (you can also type magnifier into the Start menu and click on Magnifier to open it).
- Click the - button to zoom out to 100%.
- Click the + button to zoom in up to 1600%.
- Place the mouse pointer in one of the screen corners to rotate the screen.
On Mac Computers



Click on the View (View Mode) tab at the top-left corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Show View Options (Show View Options). This option is located within the dropdown menu. A new window will pop up.

Click on the dropdown box labeled "Text size". The option appears near the top of the View Options popup window.

Select your desired text size. In the dropdown menu that appears, choose the font size you want to use.
- If you change the Finder view to a different format, you’ll need to repeat this process.

On Google Chrome


- Note: To change the size of the browser menu options, you will need to use the Magnifier (Windows) or Zoom (Mac) feature.

Change text size on a specific website. If you only want to zoom in or out on a particular webpage, you can use the keyboard shortcut. This method works only on the website you wish to zoom, and you may need to repeat it if you clear your browser's cookies:
- Go to the website you want to adjust the text size on.
- Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or ⌘ Command (Mac).
- Zoom in by pressing the + key while holding Ctrl or ⌘ Command.
- Zoom out by pressing the - key while holding Ctrl or ⌘ Command.

Click on the ⋮ button at the top right corner of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on the Settings. This option is located near the center of the dropdown menu. The Settings page will open.

Scroll down and click on the "Font size" dropdown box. This option is located within the "Appearance" section near the top of the page. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select the font size you'd like to use. From the dropdown menu, click on the size option (e.g., Medium) that represents the level of zoom you'd like to apply.

Restart Chrome. To proceed, close Chrome and reopen it. This will ensure the pages open with your desired font size setting.
On Firefox

Open Firefox. Click or double-click the Firefox icon, which features an orange fox wrapped around a blue globe.
- Note: If you want to change the menu size of the browser, you will need to use the Magnifier (Windows) or Zoom (Mac) feature.

Change font size on a specific webpage. If you'd like to zoom in or out on a particular website, you can use keyboard shortcuts. This action will only apply to the page you're viewing, and you may need to zoom again if you clear your browser cookies:
- Go to the website where you want to adjust the font size.
- Hold down the Ctrl (Windows) or ⌘ Command keys.
- Zoom in by pressing the + key while holding down the Ctrl or ⌘ Command key.
- Zoom out by pressing the - key while holding down the Ctrl or ⌘ Command key.

Click the ☰ button at the top right corner of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on the Options from the dropdown menu. The Options page will open.
- On Mac computers, click on Preferences in the dropdown menu.

Scroll down to the "Language and Appearance" section. This option is located near the top of the Options page.

Click on the Advanced… option. It is located at the bottom-right of the "Language and Appearance" section. A dropdown menu will appear.

Uncheck the box labeled "Allow pages to choose their own fonts". This option is found near the bottom of the pop-up window.

Click the "Minimum font size" dropdown. This option is located in the middle of the pop-up window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select the desired font size. From the dropdown menu, choose the minimum font size you'd like to use for text on the browser.

Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window.
- If you select a font size larger than 24, Firefox will warn you that some pages may not be properly displayed.

Restart Firefox. Close and reopen Firefox to ensure that the settings are applied to all future pages within Firefox.
On Microsoft Edge

Open Microsoft Edge. Click or double-click on the Microsoft Edge app icon, which is a blue (or white) letter "e".
- Note: If you wish to change the size of the browser's menu options, you will need to use the Magnifier feature on your computer.

Click on the ⋯ button in the top-right corner of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Zoom in or out. In the "Zoom" section of the dropdown menu, click the - button to zoom out and click the + button to zoom in.
- Unlike many other web browsers, when you use this menu to zoom in or out on a page in Edge, other already visited websites will also change their size.
On Safari

Launch Safari. Click or double-click on the green compass-like Safari app icon in the Mac Dock.
- Note: If you wish to change the size of the browser's menu options, you will need to use the Zoom feature on your Mac computer.

Change font size on a specific page. If you want to zoom in or out on a particular webpage, you can use keyboard shortcuts. The change will only apply to that page, and you will need to redo the action if you clear the browser's cookies:
- Go to the webpage where you want to adjust the font size.
- Hold down the Ctrl (Windows) or ⌘ Command (Mac).
- Zoom in by pressing the + while holding down the Ctrl or ⌘ Command.
- Zoom out by pressing the - while holding down the Ctrl or ⌘ Command.
- You can also click the View menu and select Actual Size from the dropdown to reset the page to its original size.

Click on Safari. This menu option is located at the top left corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Preferences…. This option can be found in the Safari dropdown menu.

Click on the Advanced tab at the top right corner of the Preferences window.

Check the box labeled "Never use font sizes smaller than" (Never use a font size smaller than this). This option is under the "Accessibility" settings.

Click on the dropdown box labeled "9" next to the "Never use font sizes smaller than" option. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select your desired text size. Click on the size in the dropdown menu to set it as the default font size for your browser.

Restart Safari. To do this, simply close and reopen Safari. This will ensure that the font size settings are applied consistently throughout your browser.
Tip
- Using the Magnifier or Zoom feature on your computer is a quick way to enlarge content on your screen without needing to adjust any of the computer's settings.
Warning
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to reduce the size using the Settings menu on a Windows computer; the smallest text size you can choose is 100%.
