Today, Mytour will show you how to share a document saved on Google Docs (Google Docs) and allow others to edit the document online. You can adjust settings individually for each user and invite others to edit via email or a link.
Steps
Using a Browser

Open the Google Docs website in your web browser. Enter or paste the link http://www.docs.google.com into the address bar and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return.
- If you're not automatically logged in, sign in to the Google account you want to use.

Click on the document you want to edit. All your documents will be listed here, simply click to open the one you wish to allow others to edit.
- You can create or upload a new document by clicking on the gray folder icon at the top-right of the document list.

Click on the Share button. This button is located at the top-right corner of the document. The document's sharing options will open in a popup window.

Click on the Get shareable link button at the top-right. This button, featuring a chain link icon, is located in the top-right corner of the Share popup window. The document's shareable link will appear.
- The chain link icon will turn green.
- If the icon is green, it means the shareable link is available, and clicking the link icon will copy the link to your clipboard.
Anyone with the link can ...
- For some documents shared by other users, you will not be able to change the editing settings. In such cases, the button will show "Anyone with the link can view" and cannot be clicked.

Select Anyone with the link "can edit" from the menu. This option allows users to receive a shareable link that grants them access to the document online, enabling them to edit via their accounts.
- You can also manually enter individual email addresses under the "People" section at the bottom and choose Can edit from the dropdown list next to the email addresses.
- Alternatively, you can copy the shareable link at the top and share it with anyone. The link will grant them editing access to your document.

Click on the Advanced button at the bottom-right. This gray button is located at the bottom-right corner of the Sharing popup window. The list of users currently sharing the document will appear.

Enter an email address in the "Invite people" field to send an invitation (optional). You can invite people to access the document via email, notifying them that they have editing access.
- If you're manually entering multiple email addresses, remember to separate each one with a comma.
- If you don't want to send notifications, you can uncheck the "Notify people" box below the email field.

Click the Send button in blue. An invitation email with a link to the shareable document will be sent to the selected contacts. All invited contacts will have edit access to the document.
- If you unchecked the Notify people box, you will need to click OK here and share the document link manually.
Using the mobile app

Launch the Google Docs app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. The Docs app features a blue document page icon on a white background. You can find it on your home screen, in a folder, or in the Apps drawer.

Locate and tap the document you wish to enable editing mode for. The document will open in full screen.
- Alternatively, you can tap the colorful "+" icon at the bottom-right to create a new document.

Tap the person icon with the "+" sign at the top. This button is located near the top-right corner of the screen. The "Share" page will appear.
- If you do not have permission to modify the sharing settings of the document, a notification will pop up here.
- If you cannot find this option, tap the three-dot icon at the top-right, select Share & export from the menu, and then tap Share here.

Tap the list of users below the "Who has access" line. A list of all individuals who have access to the document will be displayed.
- You can tap the dropdown icon next to any user and select Editor to grant them editing access.

Enter the contact you wish to invite to the document. Tap the People field and input the contact’s name to assign them as an editor.
- You can choose from saved contacts or manually enter email addresses (separate multiple with commas).
Tap the dropdown menu next to the "People" field.

Select Editor in the pop-up window. This will allow the selected contact to edit the document.

Enter an invitation message for this contact (optional). If you wish to send a message, you may use the Message field.
