You’ve probably heard the terms 'vlogging' or 'video blogging' before. Many people enjoy creating videos on various exciting topics, sharing their personal views and opinions, or simply documenting their daily routines. Let’s dive deeper into the world of video blogging.
Steps

Choose a theme for your vlog. You can pick any topic, as long as it’s not boring, offensive, or illegal. Get inspiration from other vloggers like Casey Neistat, Katersoneseven, Charlieissocoollike, Nerimon, Frezned, Italktosnakes, or Vlogbrothers. To make your vlog successful, create unique content that reflects your personality. Avoid copying content from other videos.

Create a YouTube account and pick an appealing name for your channel. Make sure your channel is interesting. Be cautious when choosing a username since you can’t attract people with a confusing or hard-to-read name filled with numbers!

Create at least 10 high-quality videos. These need to be truly amazing and engaging. In the early stages of your vlogging journey, you can upload one or two videos daily, then shift to posting one every day or every other day. Avoid delaying uploads for more than two days, as viewers will check your channel based on your scheduled video posts.

Post a response video to a popular and related video. This way, you’ll capture at least 1/5 of the original video's views. Awesomeness TV on YouTube allows you to submit response videos to their series on how to become a YouTube star.

Become an active member of YouTube. Your channel won’t gain traction if you only upload a video every few years. USE CAPS IN YOUR VIDEO TITLES to grab the attention of viewers. If possible, try to stick to a regular posting schedule. To succeed as a vlogger, aim to upload at least 3-4 videos per week. If creating videos is challenging, try to upload one per week.

Edit your videos! A well-edited video will captivate your audience. Make sure to read the tutorial for any video editing software you use. Windows computers come with Windows Movie Maker, while Apple computers offer iMovie. Android phones come with Movie Maker as a built-in app.

When learning to edit videos, you should include banners, thumbnails, and profile pictures. If you’re a YouTube partner, you can access several new options for video editing. You can easily manage your profile picture, but if you want to upload a banner, you’ll need to choose and edit an image that fits that size. As a YouTube partner, you can also create custom video thumbnails. While editing, make sure to include clear text, close-up shots of your face, and a fun background.

Once you’ve built a name for yourself in the YouTube community, consider signing up to become a YouTube partner. To apply, your videos must have at least a few thousand views. As a YouTube partner, you can earn money by allowing YouTube to display ads on your videos. This is how vloggers monetize their content! Additionally, videos from YouTube partners will appear more frequently in search results.

Engage with your followers. Don’t ignore or distance yourself from them. Take the time to respond to comments, messages, and video feedback you receive. By doing so, you’ll leave a positive impression on your followers, and they will surely appreciate it.
Tips
- Create accounts on Facebook and Twitter to interact with your followers and announce content updates. You can also share images on both social media platforms.
- Don’t spam by sending video links repeatedly; they may be flagged as spam. Instead, try asking friends to help promote your channel. Before sending a video link to someone’s channel, make sure to reach out to them first.
- Don’t worry if you don’t have 100 followers in the first few months. All successful vloggers started their channels just like you!
Warning
- Don’t rush it! You’ll come off as desperate or look like a wannabe if you create a bunch of accounts and immediately beg for subscriptions and likes. Wait until you’ve built up a decent following first!
