Today, Mytour will guide you on how to prevent multiple automatic pop-up windows on your phone or mobile browser. You can block pop-ups in the settings of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, and Safari. If enabling the pop-up blocker alone isn't enough, you can also install additional browser extensions to block ads.
Steps
Google Chrome on Desktop



Click the ⋮ button in the top-right corner of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Settings near the bottom of the dropdown menu.

Scroll down and click on Advanced at the bottom of the page. After clicking Advanced, the Settings page will expand with more options.

Scroll down and click on Content Settings… near the bottom of the "Privacy and security" section.

Scroll down and click on Popups near the bottom of the menu.



- If the switch is gray, it means Chrome is currently blocking pop-ups.
- You can block pop-ups from specific sites by clicking Add under the "Blocked" section of the menu and entering the URL of the site you want to block.
- To allow pop-ups from specific sites, click Allow and enter the URL of the site you want to see pop-ups from.
Chrome on Mobile

Tap the ⋮ icon in the top-right corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will appear.
Tap on Settings near the bottom of the dropdown menu.
Tap on Content Settings near the middle of the Settings page.
- On Android, tap on Site Settings.
Tap on Block Pop-ups near the top of the screen.
- On Android, tap on Pop-ups near the bottom of the screen.

Firefox on desktop

Launch Firefox. The app features an orange fox wrapped around a blue globe.
Click the ☰ button at the top-right corner of the window. A menu will appear.
Click on Options near the middle of the menu.
Firefox on iPhone

Microsoft Edge

Launch Edge by clicking on its app icon, which features a blue or white letter "e."

Click on the ⋯ button at the top right corner of the window to open a dropdown menu.

Click on the Settings option near the bottom of the menu.

Scroll down and select View advanced settings located towards the end of the menu.



Internet Explorer


Select Internet options from the dropdown menu, positioned near the top.

Click on the Privacy tab at the top of the Internet Options window.

Check the box labeled "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" under the "Pop-up Blocker" section in the Internet Options window.
- If the box is already checked, Internet Explorer is already blocking pop-ups.

Click OK. Most pop-ups will now be blocked when you encounter them in Internet Explorer.
- To block pop-ups from specific websites, click Settings next to the checkbox, enter the web address, and click Add.
Safari on desktop

Open Safari by clicking on its app icon, which features a blue compass.

Click on Safari in the top-left corner of the menu bar. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select Preferences… near the top of the dropdown menu.

Click on the Security tab at the top of the "Preferences" window.

Check the box labeled "Block pop-up windows" under the "Web content" section. Most pop-ups will now be blocked while browsing with Safari.
- Pop-ups from specific websites cannot be blocked in Safari.
Safari on mobile


- If the toggle is already green, Safari is currently blocking pop-up windows.
Tips
- Some websites may require permission to open pop-ups even when the pop-up blocker is active (for example, if you attempt to open a linked image).

- Disabling pop-ups may prevent you from opening specific links or receiving notifications from certain websites.
