This Mytour page will guide you on how to mark and block spam emails, also referred to as junk mail, on the Microsoft Outlook website. Unfortunately, marking emails as spam or adjusting spam settings is not possible through the Outlook mobile app.
Steps
Marking Spam Emails

Open the Outlook website. This will take you to your inbox if you are already logged into Outlook.
- If you are not logged in, click Sign in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, and then click Login.

Click the checkbox to the left of an email. This is the white box located at the top-left corner of the email preview. This is the email you intend to mark as spam.

Click on Junk. This button is located in the options row above the Outlook inbox, to the right of the Archive folder. Clicking this button will move the selected emails to the "Junk" folder.

Right-click (PC) or two-finger click (Mac) on the "Junk" folder. This folder is located on the left side of the Outlook page.

Click on Empty folder. You will see this option in the pop-up window.

Click OK. The Junk folder will now be empty, and the senders of the selected emails will be marked as spam senders.
Modify Block Settings

Open the Outlook website. This will open your inbox if you are already logged into Outlook.
- If you are not logged in, click Sign in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, and then click Login.

Click ⚙️. This option is located in the top-right corner of the Outlook page.

Click Options. This is located at the bottom of the dropdown menu under the gear icon labeled Settings.

Click Junk Mail. This option is located in the middle-left section of the page. This will expand the "Junk Mail" header to display its options.
- If there are already indented options under Junk Mail, skip this step.

Click on Filters and reporting. This is the fourth and final option under the "Junk Mail" section.

Select the circle to the left of Exclusive. This option is located under the "Choose a junk email filter" section near the top of the page. This will block all emails not from your contacts, pre-approved email addresses, or scheduled notifications from appearing in your inbox.

Click Save. This button is located at the top of the page under the "Filters and reporting" header. You will notice a significant reduction in spam emails in your inbox from this point onward.
Tips
- Occasionally, you should (and can) check the Junk folder for valid emails that may have been mistakenly flagged as spam by your blocking settings.
Warning
- If you enable the "Exclusive" option to block spam emails, ensure that important contacts are added to your address book before expecting emails from them (or check the Junk folder).
