This article will guide you on how to cancel a friend request you've sent or reject an unwanted friend request from someone else using either the Facebook website or the mobile app on your device.
Steps
Using the Facebook Website
Go to the http://www.facebook.com website. Click the link or type the URL into your web browser and press ⏎ Return (Return key).
- If the page doesn't log in automatically, simply sign in as usual.
Click the two-person icon located at the top right corner of the window.
Click the Delete Request button next to the friend request you want to cancel.
Cancel a friend request you've sent. Here's how:
- Click the search bar at the top of the screen.
- Type the name of the person you sent the friend request to.
- Click on their profile picture.
- Click the Friend Request Sent button next to their name, at the top of their profile page.
- Select Cancel Request, then click Cancel Request again to confirm.
Using the Facebook Mobile App
Open the Facebook app. The app icon is a white letter "f" on a blue background.
- If you're not logged in, sign in as usual.
