Mytour will guide you today on how to stop the automatic renewal of your Xbox Live Gold subscription when it reaches the end of your current plan. You can cancel your Xbox Live subscription by signing into your Microsoft account on the Xbox website. As of 2018, Xbox Live subscriptions can no longer be canceled directly from Xbox One or Xbox 360.
Steps
Open the Xbox Website. Go to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/ on your preferred web browser.
Sign In to Your Xbox LIVE Account. Click on the 'Sign in' button at the top right corner, then enter your email address and password. After signing in, the page will reload, but you might need to click 'Sign in' again and select your account from the dropdown menu.
- If you are already signed in to Xbox LIVE, skip this step.
- If your login details are saved in the browser, when you click 'Sign in', a dropdown menu with your account choices will appear.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the page. If you don't have a profile picture, it will appear as a silhouette of a head and shoulders. A dropdown menu will appear.
Click on the Subscriptions option. This option is near the bottom of the dropdown menu.
Scroll down to the "Xbox Live Gold" option. The option, marked with a green Xbox icon, is located roughly in the middle of the page.
Click on the Payment & billing link. This link is located just below the "Xbox Live Gold" title. The Xbox Live Gold subscription page will appear.
Click on the Cancel link. This link is located to the right of the "Xbox Live Gold" title near the top of the "Payment Settings" section. When you click Cancel, a menu will pop up.
- You may need to scroll up to find this option.
Click on the Confirm cancellation when prompted. This will ensure that your Xbox Live membership will not automatically renew nor charge you once the subscription ends.
Tips
You can also access the Xbox Live page via a mobile browser or the Microsoft Edge browser on Xbox if using a computer is not convenient for you.
Caution
Once your subscription expires, you will no longer be able to play multiplayer or co-op games online, nor will you be able to take advantage of Gold benefits or free games.
