How to Capture the Three Regis in Pokémon Emerald

Many Pokémon enthusiasts were surprised to learn that the traditional methods for catching Regirock, Regice, and Registeel no longer work in Pokémon Emerald. This guide will show you how to unlock these legendary Pokémon in the game. Be prepared to try multiple times to capture these elusive creatures.

Set up your team. You’ll need a Pokémon that knows Dig, a Relicanth placed at the end of your team, and a Wailord placed at the front. You may also require a Braille translation tool, as you will encounter many magical symbols written in Braille. However, you can continue without reading these symbols.

• It’s a good idea to save your game here to avoid reopening the doors if you need to retry.

Catching Regirock in the Desert Ruins. It’s located at the southern end of the desert, near Mauville City along Route 111.

• Head north to the Braille sign at the top of the cave and press A to read it. Then, take two steps left, followed by two steps down, and use Rock Smash.
• Be sure to save your game before battling, in case you don’t catch Regirock, so you’ll have another chance.

Catching Regice in the Ruins on Route 105. You’ll see the phrase "Island Cave" at the top-left corner of your screen.

• Head to the Braille sign on the north wall and press A to read it. Stick to the wall and make your way around the cave counterclockwise (you can walk, run, or bike). After circling, the Braille-marked wall will reveal the cave entrance for you to enter.
• Be sure to save your game before battling, in case you don’t catch Regice, you’ll have another chance.
• Regice has the move Ice Wind, which lowers the speed of your Pokémon. You can use a Pokémon with Yawn to counter this effect.

Catching Registeel in the Ruins on Route 120. You’ll find it in the middle of the wet grass. "Ancient Tomb" will appear in the top-left corner of your screen.

• Head to the Braille sign on the north wall and press A to read it.
• Stand in the center of the room and use the move Flash.
• Save your game before the battle, in case you fail to catch Registeel, so you can try again.

Don't forget to save your game progress before shutting down the Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS system.

• If a Pokémon is asleep while being caught, your chances of catching it increase.
• Prepare 50 Ultra/Hyper Balls and 50 Timer Balls when attempting to catch Regis. Try to weaken the Pokémon as much as possible and put it to sleep to maximize your chances of success.
• If you haven't tried this method yet, bring a strong Pokémon with an electric move to clear out all the weak trainers.
• All of the Regis have moves like Curse, Super Power, Ancient Power, and their own special move.
• Weaken the Regis until their health is in the red (low) and then start using a Pokémon with moves that focus on boosting/debuffing stats. Afterward, begin using Timer Balls. Keep in mind that Timer Balls grow stronger the longer the battle lasts.

• Always save your game progress. It can't be emphasized enough. Many trainers have made the mistake of not saving, only to have Regis (Regirock, Regice, and Registeel) faint during battle!
