This guide will show you how to adjust the display language on YouTube. Changing the language settings on the website will not affect the language used for data input, such as writing comments or video descriptions. Keep in mind that you cannot make these changes from the mobile app.
Steps involved

Visit YouTube. Open the website https://www.youtube.com/ in your browser. This will take you to the homepage of your logged-in YouTube account.
- If you haven't logged in yet, click the Sign in button at the top-right corner of the homepage, then enter your email and password.

Click on your profile icon. This icon is located in the top-right corner of the YouTube homepage. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Settings. This option is located in the middle of the dropdown menu.
- If you are using the older version of YouTube, click the gear icon below your username instead.

Click on the Language option in the dropdown menu. This is located at the bottom-left corner of the YouTube page. A list of available languages will appear.

Choose your preferred language. Click on the language you wish to display on YouTube. This will refresh the page and switch all displayed text to the selected language.
Advice
- If you are using the latest version of YouTube on your computer, you will click the Language option (instead of Settings) at the bottom of the dropdown menu after clicking your profile icon and selecting a language.
- The YouTube app on your phone uses the default language set on your phone.
Warning
- You will not be able to change the language used for text input.
