Your default Gmail account determines your default YouTube account, calendar, and other Google services. To change your default Gmail account, sign out of all active accounts, then sign in again through the browser to set your preferred default account. Afterward, you can add additional accounts to the new default account.
Steps
Change Default Gmail Account
Go to your Inbox. Make sure the account you're accessing is the default one before proceeding with the next steps.
Click on your profile picture. This icon is located at the top-right corner of the inbox page.
Select "Sign out" from the dropdown menu. Your default Gmail account and all linked accounts will be signed out.
Choose the account you want to set as your default.
Enter the password for the selected account.
Click "Sign in". You will now be signed into your preferred default account, and you can add other accounts to this default account.

- You can repeat this process with additional accounts.
Advice
- The Gmail app will open the last account you used. To change the account that opens in the app, simply switch accounts in the "Manage Accounts" section of the app.
Warning
- Signing out of your default Gmail account will also log you out of all Google services linked to that account.
