Netflix offers a range of subscription plans to choose from. The pricier options allow you to enjoy HD and Ultra HD quality content, and also support multiple viewers across different devices. If you pay for Netflix through iTunes, you'll need to change your plan through iTunes as well.
Steps
Using the Website (Standard Payment Method)

Log into Netflix and go to the 'Account' page on your computer. You can go directly using this link netflix.com/YourAccount.
- Even if you're not using Netflix on a computer, you'll still need to visit the website to modify your account. You cannot change your Netflix plan via a streaming device or gaming console.
- If you're paying for Netflix with an iTunes account, proceed to the next section.

Click on the Profile button at the top right corner and select your main account. You must be logged into your primary profile in order to change your subscription plan.

Locate the 'Service Plan Information' section. This section will display the subscription plan you're currently using.

Click on 'Change subscription plan' next to your current plan to view other available options. In many countries, you can choose between three plans: a Basic Plan with one screen in Standard Definition (SD), a plan with two screens that can stream in Full HD (1080p), and a plan with four screens that can stream in Full HD (1080p) and Ultra HD (4K). Each plan is more expensive than the previous one but allows you to watch on multiple devices simultaneously.
- Netflix recommends a 3.0 Mbps connection for SD quality, 5.0 Mbps for HD, and 25 Mbps for UHD.
- Not all plans are available in every country.

Select the subscription plan you want and click 'Continue'. This step will set your account to the new plan. Changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, but you'll have immediate access to the new features.

Add or change your DVD subscription plan (available only in the US). If you live in the US, you can subscribe to receive DVD rentals from Netflix in addition to their streaming service. This feature is handled by Netflix branches and is not available outside the United States.
- Click the 'Add DVD rental service' link to view the available plans. You'll be directed to the DVD rental plan page.
- Select the plan you want to add. Once added, you'll begin receiving DVDs in the mail.
For iTunes users (Payments via iTunes)

Open iTunes on your computer. If you use iTunes to pay for Netflix, you will need to manage your subscription plan through iTunes rather than the Netflix website.

Click the 'Sign In' button at the top of the iTunes window. If you're already signed in, you can skip these steps.

Enter your Apple ID and password. Make sure you're using the Apple ID that you used to pay for Netflix.

Click on your Profile picture in the top right corner and select 'Account Info.' This will open your account page in iTunes. You will be asked to enter your Apple ID and password again.

Locate the 'Subscription' section and click 'Manage.' This step will allow you to update your subscription information in iTunes, including your Netflix plan.

Select the subscription plan you want in the 'Renewal Options' section. You will be prompted to confirm the changes you just made. The changes will take effect on the next billing cycle.
- In many countries, you'll have three plan options: the Basic Plan with one screen in Standard Definition (SD), the two-screen plan that streams in Full HD (1080p), and the four-screen plan that streams in Full HD (1080p) and Ultra HD (4K). The more expensive the plan, the better the video quality and the more devices you can watch on simultaneously. Not all plans are available in every country or territory.
- Netflix recommends a connection speed of 3.0 Mbps for SD quality, 5.0 Mbps for HD, and 25 Mbps for UHD.
- If you started your membership before 10/5/2014, you'll only see the two-screen plan. To access all available plans, you need to cancel your current subscription and sign up again. If you registered after 10/5/2014, you'll be able to choose from all available plans.
Tip
- Netflix is not available in all regions, and not all regions offer the same subscription plans.
